Default Input please: ZO6 pre-buy inspection

Going from a built Coupe to a ZO6. Pre-buy inspection tomorrow at a performance shop. I'm overseas at work so will not be there during the inspection. 08' with stock drivetrain - 28k miles. Heads have not been done, I've factored that into my cost and the vehicle will not be driven until that's completed if a good pre-buy.

With that in mind - please let me know from your experience of anything specific to specify get looked at on the pre-buy.

I appreciate any and all input...

Roof recall was only for 06 and early 07, not 08 and later. Not sure what years the other recalls were for. Besides, if the recalls for 08 haven't been done, you can still have them done at no charge since recalls never expire.

I was told that after 10 years, your **** out of luck/with recall, maybe I'am wrong, could be state to state. Well hell never gets cold.

Yeah, looks like 10 years is the limitation for getting it done free of charge. Point is he still has a couple years left to get any recalls done free of charge so it shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Bump...

Another areas of known potential problems that should be specifically looked at?

I went through the same questions with everything when I bought my 08 last month. Clutch fluid was the only thing besides the heads I found to look at. But that wouldn't be a sales stopper. Other than that I would run my finger against all body seams, make sure no body work has been done and everything is even. Check the undercarriage for any damage. Get a car fax and an autocheck report. Get a GMVIS report to see what work GM has done to it.

I have an '08 ZO6 that I bought new. I have 85,000 miles on it now. Never any problems. You'll love the car.

Clutch recall?
I am aware of the increased warranty on the clutch master cylinder but not a recall.
If you have a failure , GM will repair if within the extended warranty period(10 years I think).

I would ask them to look closely under front bumper/air dam area. I have seen several with the aluminum radiator support cracked from running up on a curb stop. Let it idle for a while to make sure fans work. Also have them listen for excessive valve train noise. Make sure they drive and run through every gear also. It's not uncommon for synchros to be toast although more likely on a T56. You might also make sure they know the procedure for checking the oil level on a Z. And if all checks out, get ready to have some fun!

If you wanna be cool like me don't check the cylinders for scoring and instead crack a block two days after purchase.

Good times, good times.
