Cool. I've been debating getting one of them. I would like a suction cup to mount it to the exterior of the car. My fear is that it would fall off though.

Get one! Its absolutely worth it if you are in the market due to its versatility. I got the Hero starter bundle. Also bought an additional 50 in one accessories pack for $37 on amazon.. It comes with everything you need for a great price! Also, I agree with you, I wouldn't want to risk putting the GoPro outside of the car.. Though its made to withstand the high speeds, there are too many factors that would ruin your day.

The suction cup is solid as long as where your mounting is clean and smooth. I mount mine next to the B pillar so i can see inside the car and the road and I can still reach the camera to turn it on and off from the drivers seat. I've had it to 160 MPH multiple times and it doesn't flinch. If you're still worried, just attach a tether to the camera and open your trunk and stick the rest of the tether inside and close it.

You can see my videos with where it's mounted and how it holds up.
