Z06 track tires and wheels
I am considering setting up my tires and wheels for road course racing such as Texas world speedway. I'm looking into a set of track wheels and tires, or putting some track and street tires on the factory rims. Any recommendations?

I like the stock Speedline Splitspokes in black of course...(lightest of the OEM wheels) and Toyo R888 in OE sizes. I drive too and from the track on this setup. Ain't nobody got time to trailer!

Casual or serious?
If casual, Post #2 as above is what I do, stock 18/19 Speedlines with stock or a little wider R888's. A spare set of wheels with TPMS should run about $650 and the tires about $1400
Serious, then good aftermarket wheels, Finspeed has excellent wheels. Generally 18x10 or 11 wide front and 18x13 rear. Tires likely 305 or 315/30-18 front and 345/5-19 rear running Hoosier R7's for 20-30 min. sessions or A7's if single to three time trial laps. Wheels will be around $4K and the tires with TMPS around $2K mounted.
So casual and drive to the track for about $2K or serious and swap to the track setup at the track (hauled separately by another car or trailer the car) at $6K+, +++.
For HPDE's with stock brakes you will want track pads, hi-temp brake fluid (I use Motul RBF600) and you will want to do added front brake cooling. Coleman has a nice cooling setup from the OEM plastic duct to the rotors. I did this from the front grill area to finally get adequate cooling:

If you are running the Hoosiers and aftermarket wheels then you are serious and should consider an aftermarket brake upgrade at least for the fronts (Wilwood has a good setup for front or front and rear). You are on a big $ slippery slope as you need good safety equipment, then upgrade the suspension, then maybe engine work, then .....
If you haven't done much track driving, invest in HPDE instruction or one of the professional schools that use Corvettes.

I'm in NC. I have a spare set of factory split spoke wheels for sale with sensors (Chrome). I run two set ups. with two sets of wheels. That way I can drive the car on the highway with one set and trailer to the track with the other set. I run full race slicks for the track. $600 on the wheels

I agree with AzDave47. If you can't locate a set of wheels you want, check out House of Wheels in Florida. I bought a set of powder coated Spyders from them for fairly cheap. I've heard real good things about the R888's. Personally I've never run those, I run Hoosier R6's.
If you want to go with a more serious setup, you might want to consider 18" wheels all around. CCW C10's are great wheels.
Many setup's to choose from at all different price ranges.
Keep the shiney side up

I have a full set of OEM Speedline Split spokes (polished aluminum) with all 4 "working" TPMS sensors and Hoosiers (18-275, 19-325 "Stock set up") and 4 hub caps ready to go. I am in Houston, Texas (per your reference to running at Texas World Speedway). The wheels are in very good shape, no cracks or major blemishes and can be used as DD wheels based on condition if required. They have been balanced with Hoosiers ready to bolt on for track. Hoosiers have 1 full HPDE on them (at COTA). See link to thread if interested.

I would suggest you consider a good set of aftermarket wheels as the stock ones are a bit week. I have broken two stock speedlines (split spoke 2008 Z06) while running street tires. I broke seven out of ten spokes at Infineon in turn six and then noticed a second broken one following a day at Thunderhill. After speaking with Daniel at FinSpeed, it is clear that the specs for the Corvette wheels have not increased since the C4.

I have a set of hand brushed and clear coated Finspeed F14's with sensors and MPSS 285/18's 345/19'S mounted by Finspeed. Pretty much new condition. (I bought a second set in 19/19). I was going to peddle them when I get motivated, but really hate selling stuff. So I haven't bothering trying.
They are in the boxes Finspeed sent them to me in. If you (or anyone else) is interested, shoot me a PM with email address. No low balling BS. I have just under 6k into these + shipping.

If you don't want to run Hoosiers? I actually have ZR1 wheels, so I have the 19x10 and 20x12 wheels and having a hard time figuring out if I should get MPSS for the ZR1 wheels or a set of 18x10 & 18x12 or 19x12 wheels & RE-11s. Thoughts?

Vader03. If you're asking running the Hoosiers on 18's would be cheaper in the long run. You can pick up scrubs reasonably and a square setup 18x10' & 18x12's will be easier to find tires for.
