Talk about first world problems
The idea that the current 2008 silver Z wheels I have now are date is a matter of opinion. Something about the 2009+ Spyder wheels seems like the best balanced aftermarket/ OE look that I'm after.
My problem is I dont know which finish would be best on Victory red
Im leaning towards plain old Silver. I was seriously going after a flat black or even Competition Grey...then I saw the combo below and
Anyone want to chime in with pics and their thoughts?

Have the comp gray
Played with plastidip to see what black is like
I might powder coat or paint it gloss black. Most likely going to wrap the roof and halo in gloss black too.

I don't like reproductions. They are heavier to start with and I question the quality on some of them. But for the weight alone, I stuck with the OEM.

There is nothing inherently wrong with chrome - in certain applications its in great taste. In car culture there are trends that come and go and stay in some form or another. Chrome wheels in general are not even an OE options these days so half of us are just keeping with the times. All a matter of preference I happen to be a firm believer that chrome wheels DO NOT belong on 2-Door sports cars. Especially models as hardcore as a Z06.

Here's how I'm breaking it down. I actually prefer the plain Silver (shocker) the kicker is I hate brake dust, and the moment they start dusting up just slightly it ruins the look for me.
#1 choice is Bright Silver - ONLY WHEN CLEAN
#2 Comp Grey - Now Im not a huge fan of the Comp grey in the Spyder design. I think the finish looks better on the 06-08 base Z wheels but I'm really trying to move away from the split spoke design. And so Spyders in the Comp Grey finish although not my first choice more or less seem to maintain the the "look" even when its filthy. Funny, I would chose the Grey Wheels because i cant stand my silver wheels turning grey with brake dust LOL
#3 Gloss or Sation Black - This seems to be the natural choice these days... for just about every car really lol Hate to say it only because I was so for black wheels and have been for years. Black is the new Chrome in a way

New Comp grey spyders OEM wheels are hard to come by, but used in good condition should be around $600, much better choice than repros.
