Default lt's been a while... 778rwhp ZR1. Pump gas. 2.6 upper Details/Pic/Video Inside

Haven't really had time to post much on here lately. Figured I'd throw this up as it's just about my favorite combo of basic mods and the dyno to prove it. My buddy asked me to build his 2912 Centenial edition zr1 from bone stock to something over 700 to the tire on pump 93 gas without spinning the blower to the moon. I've been around the block a few times with what works and what doesn't, so this is the route I went with it and am pretty happy with the result.

Stock exhaust with gutted cats
Gptuning stage 2.5 cam
PRC ported stock heads
Synergy 4.5 intake
Nick Williams 102
LPE ported snout and ported blower done by me.
2.6 upper (stock lower)
Modded bricks
Custom Dyno tune by me.

End result 778rwhp 710rwtq

Needless to say he was surprised when the car went from hooking in 2nd to barely being able to keep traction in 4th. Has the new MT SS on the car now and he loves it.

Wow, nice work!!! Did you need to make mods to the fuel system at all? Meth? Upgrade clutch? I'm in the market for a Zr1 and would like to get at least 700 who out of it. I currently have a C5TT that does about 800 who but I don't want to go too crazy on the ZR1.
Thanks, Dan

Stock clutch, stock fuel system, stock injectors, and does not have meth. Injectors are just about maxed out on this setup.

Very well done! Those are certainly some great results and without E85 or Meth, I'm even more impressed. As SpeedD mentioned, I'm also curious on the route you went in regards to the fuel system.

EDIT: Nothing like posting at the exact same time lol!

Took some tuning tricks with the fuel system to get the injectors to not max out.

This might be the highest HP ive seen without meth or E85, wow great work.
My car is going under the knife next week, hoping for 700+
How much power will the stock clutch hold? I have a feeling with my 20k mile car it wont last long with 700 hp

Stock clutch can hold 800+ for street use for rolls and just messing around. Once you start launching it, it will die.

Congratulations on the build!

The fact you didn't use any of the above - was it simply a save coin issue - or you feel they are not necessary?

Just was not necessary. Going to push it on the stock manifolds. They obviously have not become a restriction yet. Once I convert it to FlexFuel it will get ID1300s and a fuel system.

Little more than that. Depends on the shop.

Even if 10k, to have an 800whp car for 10k is incredible!!! Adding 250 who for 10k is really impressive!! Good work!
Thanks, Dan

Good work Greg. Glad you and your customers are liking the cams! Surprised you made it there with stock injectors.

With these cars you only need ~1500 to get you 80-90 of those 250.

Then your cost outlay really takes an upward trajectory.

Congrats on those numbers- especially with the stock fuel system.
