Just Installed 2013 Z06/ZR1 Exhaust On 09 Z06
All I can say is WOW. This things absolutely rocks. I liked my NPP exhaust on my 09 but thought is lacked something. I had heard another early Z with ZR1 exhaust about a year ago but never popped for one as folks were getting way too much $ for take-off mufflers. A coupe weeks ago, I did a quick search and located a like new set of Z06/ZR1 mufflers off a 2013 427 a guy in MD had for sale in the For Sale section. He was looking for a buyer for local pickup. I made him a reasonable offer and he agreed to sell me the system. Picked the system up last weekend and to my amazement, the mufflers were like brand new and only with 1,000 mi on them.
A buddy of mine and I tried to do the install Sat on a set of race ramps in my drive way but we ran into issues with the passenger side. Lucky we started there and were not that far in. A quick search on the forum showed the install is not as straight forward as anticipated. Very tight and you have to actually drop the suspension A arm to get the passenger side out. Took the Z and mufflers to Page Chevy in Annandale and the lead Vette Tech there, Arron Rogers, did a fantastic job. The labor was 3 hrs. Not cheap but given the work involved, I was okay with it. Arron was very careful and returned the car to me as if he was never there. The car sounds amazing. Much deeper than my 09 exhaust with the flaps open and the popping and cracking upon decal is intoxicating. This is the way a Vette should sound. I will post up some vid in the coming days.
If you are thinking of doing this mod, do it. It is well worth the money.

Did you get the X-pipe as well, or do you still have your stock H-pipe? I ditched the H-pipe years ago on my '09 for an X-pipe, but I went with B&B fusions for the axle back.

Left the stock H pipe. My car is pretty much stock. If an X pipe had been readily available, I would have put it on.

Don't the '13's have the dual cat. setup? I thought the 2011 with x-pipe was the factory exhaust of choice.

So, this makes me wonder: If the exhaust on my stock 2012 sounds that much different/better than the pre-2011 version, would it be a waste of money for me to put in a B&B Fusion? The video clips to compare the B&B Fusion to stock NPP feature an older C6 Z06.

Personal preference as far as that goes. I love my X-pipe/B&B fusion setup...way better than the super quiet stock setup from '09. If you like the sound of yours, I'd say just pick up the X-pipe from corsa that deletes your 2 extra cats and free up a couple HP in the process.

I expect to have the headwork done next summer and will probably go through and do everything.
