Sorry about the motor, boss! Glad you made it out safely. Looking forward to following the progress on the next build.

sucks but you've had a ton of fun and made a ton of power in your ZR1 for the better part of 4ish years now. How many miles did you have on her? do you think you'll buy a crate motor, rebuild it yourself or take it vengance?

10k on the mileage and they were very hard miles. I trailered the car everywhere so you can only imagine how many of those miles were spent at high rpm. Definitely not a crate motor. It will be a 6 bolt motor that's for sure.

This might sound crazy but you should look into a lsx 454. 6bolt heads, forged bow tie block and forged everything else. I bet you could slap that zr1 blower on it. Motor comes with 11.1 compression so you would have to turn down the boost but as a crate motor is under 10k.

That's too many cubes for the stock blower but that compression would make up for it. What hp is it rated for?

Careful with the LSx454s you are really pushing the bore for a boosted application unless it is the tall desk version! Also it will weigh a ton.

Why not go ERL 427?

I pulled the belt off the car and the blower spins and sounds clean so it sounds like it's going to be small cubes high compression for me

Might as well go ahead and get a Dart billet block You don't want to be toting around a fat boy iron block!

I'm pretty sure I can reuse my oil filter on my new setup
