Default Another "which cam?" thread. Help!

Yes, I've searched extensively, and here I am. Hoping some of you kind and knowledgeable folks can help out a fellow owner in making a choice.

I've dealt with Patrick G in the past with good results when I had my C5 Z, and am currently looking at the Lethal Racing Phantom cam along with a few others for my 2009 Z06. Mods are:

SLP 1 3/4" headers w/catted X-pipe
SLP intake
AI 280cc heads milled 0.030" (for 12:1 compression w/ stock HG), BTR .660" springs

Now I need to add a cam and possibly an intake manifold.

Thinking something in the neighborhood of 228-232 intake duration, 246-248 exhaust duration, on a 114-115 LSA. I've been out of the game for a bit and I know there are a lot more lobes to choose from now.

I don't want something that will destroy my valvetrain within 10k miles. I also don't want something that will be annoying to drive. I want to be able to cruise in 5th and 6th gear at ~1200 RPMs while making good power (130+ traps) with the addition of an intake manifold.

I've heard great things about the Lethal Phantom cam, but is the .652 exhaust lift cutting it too close with my .660" springs?

I've also heard great things about the Comp 231/247 cam, BTR stage 2, as well as EPS and Pat G cams.

I think there are too many choices and I always want the best, hence owning a C6 Z.

I'm open to any suggestions, but can anyone provide some feedback comparing these choices? How big of a cam can I go with, given my driveability requirements and the valve springs I have installed? I'd rather not change springs since they have 1-2k miles on them.

Thanks in advance.

I would stick with the EPS lobes from cam motion. They are much softer on your valvetrain. Personally I would not go above .625 lift if you were worried about long-term durability. Yeah you give up a few horsepower but who cares if you have a stable valvetrain.

Patrick G specked out a cam for me a few months ago, 228/238 115+3. This cam will have great mid range and get drivability

Ditch the 1 3/4 and get some 1 7/8.

Just got my 09 Z06 back from getting LG LT Headers on it.

WCCH Stage 2
LG LT headers
Katech Torquer 116 cut to 114 (220 / 244 @ .050, .615 / .648 lift, 114LSA)
Halltech 107 CAI
Ported stock TB
Ported Stock Intake
Tuned

Car makes ~560RWHP ~505 RWTQ on a very hot and humid day.

I asked my tuner what he thought it should do. He said with drag radials and a good track it should be good for mid 10s/Mid 130MPH (With the all important Driver Mod. ~1.5 second 60')

No surging or bucking at low RPMs. The most it does is shake the car a bit at idle.

I'm curious if Pat selected this cam with the assumption of OEM castings and no port work, or if you told him the ports were going to be worked?
