Would you be afraid to buy a 100k miles Z06?
I'm looking for a Z06 and the prices in Canada right now for 2006-2008 is around 45k-50kcan$.
However I found one for much cheaper (under 30kcan$) but has 100k miles!
What do you guys think? Should I stay away? Jump on it?

like any other used car with 100K mi's, there could be a lot of deferred maintenance costs waiting to happen...
you'll need to have the car checked-out thoroughly and try to make a better-informed decision.

Thanks, I would have the car checked thoroughly by a Corvette specialist.
Are these engine good in the long run?
Besides the dropping valve problem, any issue with regards to engine/tranny?
Any high costs known problems with these cars?

If I had to do it over, I would have purchased a GS and put either a Edelbrock E-Force or a Magnuson Heartbeat on it. Looks are the same yet greater horsepower(600+) with a very conservative tune.

I would suggest you find out as much history on the car that you can. 100k highway miles or easy miles are much different than hard miles.
If the price is good you need to factor in some prudent maintenance costs. Say 5K if someone else does the work over the first year.
If the head issue has not been done dealt with, DO IT FIRST!!!!!!
Check threads on "high millage" Z06's and you will find many who have required amazingly little maintenance.
Good luck.

The LS7 engines are expensive if you have to replace/repair one. Way more than the LS3 used in the base car and the GS.

Edit: Ok you're talking about supercharging the LS3. Makes sense. But does a SC put too much heat for track duty?

If the heads have made it over 100k miles without dropping a valve. They obviously were not affected by any issues causing accelerated valve guide wear..
I had to replace a Trans in my car sometime over 100k miles.
It started to whine a bit and eventually experienced a complete failure of some kind.
Seats needed to be freshened up too..
But overall it's a pretty solid car even with 100k

Safety Car
I think that with any car it's all about the maintenance it's received over it's lifetime. I drove my old C5 from houston to Key Largo and back. Ran perfectly the entire way. Had 95000 miles on it and the valve covers were never off of it. Except for a B&B cat back it was stock. I think if your going to buy a car with high miles you're always better off finding a one owner car. That way you can get the complete history of the car from the original owner.
