Battery Tender Hook-up
I'm about to connect a battery tender to my '07 Z06 and was wondering what was the best way?? Directly to the battery or to the positive post next to fuse box under the hood and negative to somewhere on the engine?? I know it's not a big deal...just want to make sure I do it right. Thanks for the input.

I installed mine to the Jump Post under the hood and grounded it. I connected a 6" extension and fed it out the upper corner of the front grill. I secured it with a zip tie. This allows me to connect/disconnect the Battery Tender is just a few seconds. Car is always on the tender and battery 100% charged.

That's correct, sir. It'll be on the passenger side. Just follow the frame rail from the positive post area up towards the front of the car and right next to the radiator cover you should see a 10mm bolt with several black wires terminating there. I'll try and get a picture later if you need.

I hook mine to the battery and set the charger on a wood block so it can get some airflow underneath. Ran the wire out the window and to the outlet. Then put the cover on it. Second year doing this.

Ah...so you can do it either way....directly to battery or ground it somewhere.....curious.....wonder if one way is better, in some way, over the other.......thanks for the input.

I run mine straight to the battery; use the quick connect attachment, run it out the hatch and down the side...been doing it for the last 3 years, no issues.

I did mine exactly how Mjoacim did. I hard wired the quick disconnect to the postive post on the fuse box under the hood, grounded it in the same spot with a couple other grounds and then ran the connect terminal down by the radiator shroud and thru the front grill where i can plug it in and tuck it up out of sight when not in use.

Whatever method, inside hood/lighter/post etc the salient part is keeping the cell charged while not toasting it so do something.
