Default Bolt-On C6 Z06 w/ New Personal Best 1/4 Mile

Went to Cecil County Dragway this past Saturday with my personal '07 Z06. Below are the modifications and two best ET time slips from Saturday.

Some of you may recognize this car from my other username "camONLYls1". The tuning and mods were all performed by myself, but of course they can all be provided by CC Performance (County Corvette).

My '07 Z06 has a completely stock longblock. Only power mods are bolt-ons and fuel- which are listed below.

- Halltech MF103
- Stock TB- ported
- FAST 102- ported
- PFADT headers
- PFADT O/R Xpipe
- B&B Fusion catback
- DStecks FlexFuel kit
- ID1000 injectors
- E85 fuel
- Tuned by Shane Lesky w/ HPTuners
- McLeod RXT clutch

Will try to get to the track one more time before it closes. Hoping to see more MPH next time, as it has trapped 133.6mph before. Not sure what was going on this day since I didn't log the car. Regardless, I'm happy the new personal best ET.

10.52 @131.1 mph w/ 1.56 60'
10.54 @132.1 mph w/ 1.61 60'

Thanks bud. I did forget to list the McLeod RXT clutch, which makes a big difference. Just edited the OP with the RXT.

It's okay for a twin disc. It does tend to chatter when the discs are cold and you can't let the car walk itself with no gas in first gear, like you could with the stock single disc (stock cam). For what the clutch costs and offers, it's a solid clutch.

With that said, I'm going to take a leap for the more expensive Mantic 9000 when I get the chance. Once I have a real reason to pull the drivetrain out.

Nice!

Can you expand on the wheel/tire combo?

Congrats Shane. Nice passes.
And I agree with you that logging passes can provide a wealth of info.
Love the color too.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I like being able to let the clutch out without pressing on gas. Also on the runs. And on the LMB. Best color for out Z06's.

Nice runs that is a really good track. Must have been some awesome DA's. Are you running the 1 7/8 Pfadts? Curious because I am and with my head and cam car with FAST and NW the Headers seem to be a choke point now and my tuner and several others have said the same thing. My KPA is steady at 100 or more even so intake side is working great but the exhaust is not. My heads flow 253@ .600. I have been told by other tuner/builders that the Pfadts work on stock cam cars but with cars that have good cams that fill those cylinders they become a choke point and 4 into 1s pull away.

Congrats...

I didn't see a roll cage in your vette. I believe if you go 10.99 that would be a requirement (correct me if I'm wrong). Surprise you got 2 runs if you didn't have a roll cage.

Nonetheless amazing time and trap speed.

I drive down to the track on stock wheels and switch to Weld RTS drag wheels once I get there. Actually, I didn't even drive the Z06 down this time, my friend did. I got stuck with a beat up 2003 F150 loaded with my drag wheels and floor jack haha.

The Welds are 17x11 and 17x4.7 with 315/35-17 Hoosier DOT drag radials on the rear and 185/55-17 M&H Racemasters on the front. It's a really nice tire combo, but I might switch to full slicks come spring.

Thanks Gary! I've been taking notes watching your videos at the track. You've helped me considerably, and we haven't really talked much haha.

I'm still kicking myself for not logging the car. After these two passes I was going to try and make one more after I let the car cool down a bit. As the car was cooling, it started raining at the track, unfortunately. Maybe next time!

Me too! I still do it sometimes out of habbit, but it's a little jerky with the RXT. LMB FTW!

The DA was excellent, which is why I was confused about my trap speed. I was really expecting 3-4 MPH higher.

I'm running the 1 3/4 PFADT Headers right now. They work great for bolt-ons. However, I'm planning to do a high CR Heads/Cam upgrade this winter and will switch the PFADT headers out for a set of 2" American Racing Headers.

I believe the limit without a cage is 11.49 or faster . At Cecil they usually give me one warning and then the second pass I have to quit.

Thanks for the kind words!

Ya I was thinking of changing to ARH but 1 7/8. My compression is 11.4 and a dynamic of 8.55 so I think 2" will be a little big still.

I would stick with 1 7/8 ARH headers for your setup too. The only reason I'm going with 2" is because I'm looking at 14:1CR and max effort camshaft/cylinder heads.

Although I'm really surprised your 1 7/8 PFADT headers are restrictive with your application. I'd think they would be plenty efficient.

Shane,
I have a rental coming up on December 12th at Atco. You can attend if you wish. They charge us $200 per car. We usually have fantastic prep. I restrict street tires to the left lane while DRs or slicks can run either lane. (I only run the right lane. )
LMK if you are interested.
BTW- I hear that Cecil is a great track and is quite fast. I have not yet had the pleasure to run there .
