But if the intercooler bricks are not larger than stock then the cooling capacity will be the same. Lid looks stock apart from the great big hole in it (that should reduce temps! Lol).

The only way someone is going to really reduce intake temps is fitting BIGGER intercooler bricks!

These are different bricks that utilize higher quality materials that can withstand higher temps without melting like the stock units . They are in use I wish someone with a seriously modded motor using these would report back with real world testing and details / data. I'm very interested but want data. They are expensive-like $1,600/set.

Thanks for the pics. It is nice to see that there are aftermarket components still popping up for our now defunct LS9s. I see CR is in Indy; a two hours drive away for me.

Oh, the days that I would pounce on some new cool parts to mod my engines. Those days are gone for me.

Excellent ! Any side by side vs stock comparison and review with data would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Just a thought: why does nobody buy a higher intercooler Core, Build the needed endplates and Lift the whole Lid by using a spacer plate? Just because of hood clearance issues?

Thanks, Tim

€dit: can someone please post the stock core dimensions without end Tanks? Thank you.

Tim, that's always been my thoughts. Taller bricks would not only give you more cooling capacity but also reduce the restriction through the bricks. Results are higher manifold pressures and lower intake temps. Have your cake and eat it basically!

The LSA guy have had new lids only for a while and they pick up boost straight away. The stock is very restrictive though.

Bigger bricks would optimum but I think it would very problematic. There just isn't any room to make a big increase. FWIW- my nitrous plate isn't very thick but required shimming the front cradle down to clear it.

I think the best fix or what someone needs to build is single pass bricks. Water enters the front and exits the rear or vice versa. This way the water goes in out faster instead going in and making the 180 degree turn.
