Look in the electronics area.

There is a GREAT attorney in Ft Worth which can handle that ticket. He took care of the one I got in Ft Worth and it was VERY reasonable, and the outcome was 6 months, no tickets and it goes away.

Add: no 'speeding tickets' in Tarrant County that is....

Too late now!

The two top runners are always the Valentine or the Escort/Passport/whatever-they-call-it-these-days.

I've got an old Valentine One that has served me well over the years, but there is now newer tech beyond mere detection (one of those two has units that communicate somehow with other detectors of the same model/brand in your vicinity).

You have differed judification(some thing like that) or Defense driving for anything under 20 mph over the speed limit, 90 days probation and you pay a little fine and it's done.

I have a passport Max but it seems like after i bought it cops never runner the radar. It does work well but I find myself a little more cautious at night that's when I really only use it.

I'm an Escort fan, 3 vehicles and a new Escort in each, I have also been using their products since the early 80's.

V1 gets my vote, been using them for many years and now have one in each vehicle. You'll have to "get to know" whatever you decide on.

If you REALLY want max protection from both radar and laser and have deep pockets, go with a custom K40 K40 - Products setup. You'd get front and rear radar detectors and front and rear laser diffusers that intergrate into one alert system that no one will see...just a little LED light visible on your dash.

I plan to do one at some point but they're pricey!

This has been beat up in C6 General Discussion. V1 is good with the arrows but look at the Passpot 9500ix for GPS heads up and elimination of flasealarms or the Redline for high sensitivity and an inability to be detected.

Laser jammers are legal in most states and work very well. I use Blinder, but there are a few reliable brands.

However its still not the end all be all. It will jam and jelly laser, but does nothing except tell you there is a cop (or mall) for x, k and ka bands. The gps function is great, you can set it to not go off at malls and it also has a setting where it will not annoy you if your under a preset speed limit which I keep at 35 mph to prevent the shopping detector mode.

If you're in Texas then the laser jammer is illegal. Depends on your budget too. The priciest passport is the max then you can buy the app. That links with other radars and tells you where there are other cops with radars on, which displays on a map. Works like a little gps but it works on your phone so depending on how big the screen it may or may not be the most useful. Most of the stealth detectors are over 1k installed professionally. In the end a good stick on radar will run you over 300.

I would add to whatever detector you buy - use the Waze app - great network of police location based on other users real time input.

Default V!

I depend on Valentine One since 2001. It's the one to have if you care where the radar is and where it isn't. If you don't care where the radar is coming from, get another brand.

In 13 years of using one in my two Z06s, I have had only one speeding ticket and that was with instant on radar in a very isolated part of Arizona.

Previously I depended on Passport for protection with my two Porsches. It is better to know where the radar is.
