Default What difference a tire makes!

Road tested the Michelin PSS 325/25/20 with 275/30/19
I now have C7 Z06 Grip! GM doesn't want this out! Half the noise. Twice the grip! Stereo has new life since the interior noise is down alot. NO tracking in the grooves. Totally
better smoother ride! I Now have two sets mounted! 1 On the Finspeeds
the other on my new Cup wheels!

Shown!

At least 23 pounds of rotating weight gone even more with the Finspeeds.
Tires are .2 front and .3 rear shorter. I can feel it's slightly lower.
Lower gearing slightly too! Car feels better and quicker!
Feels much more like the C7! Alot of the big improvement is the tires! C6 to C7!

I'm sorry, the C7 Z06 has our standard sizes. I don't think that looks very good to be honest, they look to short IMO. Especially the rear, maybe it's just the 'angle of the picture'?

I'll be waiting for the actual C7 Z06 tires to be released.

If you saw them side by side with the stocks you can't tell.

They look bad ***! Plus the ZR1 with PS2's are not hanging!
They look shorter partly because of the machined cups. But no matter they fit great!
They are only .2 inch shorter. I compared them off the rim and they are very very close.

Plus runflats suck these are even better than the Z06 tire!

I definitely agree RunFlats SUCK!!! I hate them!!! And would love ZR1 sizes in NON RUNFLATS FTW but Michelin doesn't offer them!

Good to know they look better in person. I'm sure that's a nice light setup!

Traction is better in all respects on the street. I don't track mine so can't say there. but I'm quite sure. Gotta go crusing right now it feels that much better! Zr1 drew a crowd 1 came inside and ask me Ok to look then a few others came up!

I think the track sunday, if the weather is right may give me the ZR1 fast time! Tires are super stick!

The Super Sport has about 17% more lateral grip than the PS2. The outer compound is the same as the one they run at Le Mans. The Super Sport also has a tread wear of 300 too!

I did a tire test with Michelin at Fontana about 1 1/2 years ago comparing the Super Sports to Continental, Pereli, and several others. The Super Sport is much better tire.

I'm on my second set on my Audi and will put them on the ZR1 when I need tires.
Michelin is the only one that has broken the code on run flats, my PS2's were only .1 g less grip than my Kumho 710 race tires.

I forgot to mention that the goal for Michelin Super Sport tires on the C7 was for the Z51 car to have more lateral force than the PS2 on a C6 Z06 with narrower tires which they achieved. So the Super Sport tire on the C7 Z06 and C6 ZR1 will be much better than the PS2. I had a long chat with one of the Michelin test engineers a year ago on this.

I'm ready! The stick of the tires is amazing. 1st gear no spin just goes! Sunday may bring a 10 sec 1/4 qtr!

Is your car stock? I keep hearing great things about this tire... from the various forums I'm on.

Need to see if they have them in the sizes for my TT C5Z (345-30-19). I am running Nitto NT05Rs full time in the rear on that car.

But whatever, thanks for the honest report from a fellow owner, and its great to hear they are working so well. Hooking up in sub 60^ weather is great!

Just measured them. The black rimed set vs the PS2 in the 335.
The main thing is the front is little narrower. But drives so much better!
The height is puzzling is just the .2 inch shorter. Side by side.
Looks that way with the cups. They just look bigger with the machined face. The black ones don't make the side wall look short.
It really is very close. but the handling and grip is two different worlds.

Plus i love the low profile look. Improved the car in all respects!

Track is open and weather will be great so we will see what the SS tires bring sunday.

I'm looking forward to your thoughts? Were you any slower with the narrower tires?

Made it to the track late and paid for it as it was crowded and hot
(83) and humid. So no 10's today the only chance would have been
being on time. I did run a 11.65 off a 2.35 60ft at 127.XX
Downhill after that! 3 passes 2 in the hot heat. Did get to match
up with a Corvette with a Tom Wong 427 in it with 600 hp.

He got the first time and I won the second. Track was slow.
