I notice it's those who are afraid to drive their car daily that have issues. Miles are not bad, my c5 is my DD and I absolutely love it. Why would I purchase the car of my dreams to leave it in the garage and look at it?

Enjoy it by driving it.

Exactly, it's kind of like a horse you leave in the stable instead of letting it run. I can only imagine that if I sports car sits for so long it could actually damage it

Well I have the opposite predicament. I can't stop driving it. Had around 157K on my last one until that wall jumped out in my way. I arlready have 2400 on the new one and have only owned it about 6 weeks now. Plus I love the car so much I only went 3 weeks without one after my crash

I very seldom drive my Z06, yet I've put approximately 10,000 miles on it in the past year.

Here is my new one. 2006 purchased in August with 17,800 miles. Now has 20,300 miles. Completely stock except for Mild to Wild and Z06 Lloyd Matts. Original owner was 72 and never drove it hard. Stock brake pads were like new. Came with 500 miles on MPS2 zips. Swapped all new fluids. Runs and looks new.

I bought my Z on June 21, 2014 with 37,xxx on the odo and it's at 43,xxx at the moment. I havent driven it since last week because my car is at home and I'm away for work. My Z isn't even my daily driver.
You guys are more then welcome to swap with me if you'd like!

Yes I am in the exact same boat as you! Of I put 50 miles on the car the whole summer that's a lot! It sits in the garage, spotless with hundreds of coats of wax on it!

I will be selling mine before the year is out. I own a resort campground and spend my summers there. The vette is too low to get on the property and my winters are spent RVing in the USA. These circumstances pretty much remove sports cars from my life for at least the next 20 years. I am going to continue to enjoy it until it sells then its goodbye to corvettes. I wish I could just build a road on the property to accommodate a vette but it would cost as much as a C8.

Oh, man. So much has happened in six years. I did end up selling my Z06 not long after my post above, but I have since replaced it with a C6 ZR1.

Have a 10-ZR1 with 14k miles and just moved to AZ, I would of thought I would drive it all the time, not the case. Think about selling it, but realize after 7 Vettes and 2 Vipers this is my last sports car.
my SRT jeep is my daily driver so it’s still all good.

I'm thinking along the same lines as you. I am on my fourth Vette and dumped about $40K in mods in my last Vette, so I think this may be my last also. I'm modding my house instead now. Building a home theater room.

GREAT THREAD-I relate to the rarely-able-to-drive sentiments. When i watch those major auto auctions, it seems other sports car owners haven't driven theirs much either!
I'm determined this year to make it my daily driver in spring and summer months. Might even get so bold as to drive it to the golf course and leave it unattended for 3 hours...well maybe at least once.

If you need someone to stretch the legs on the ZR1, let me know I'll come over any time.

Y'all need to learn the joy of just driving your car to work. Don't wait for a "special occasion" just make an ordinary day special by driving your fun car. Hell, I take mine shopping and stuff the hatch full of groceries. There's tons of room.
