Default Best Coils to Run?

What kind of coils should I run on my 06Z that's cammed, headers, full exhaust? I already have MSD wires probably will get some new ones and was looking into the MSD coils and was skeptical about spending over $700 for them? Are they really worth it? Also if you all know where I could get some at a discounted price that'll help.

STOCK! If you want to upgrade your wires look into Firecore50 wires. A lot of the fastest guys in the world use them, and that's good enough for me.

MSD are a downgrade. Stock is fine.

These won't burn from the headers?

No wire should burn from the header if installed correctly. I run $50 autozone wires on my car, no issues.

Stock coils (in fact one had the tip broke off), and 4-5 autozone wires, and 3-4 taylor wires. I pull them pretty often and land up messing the wires up so I have a box of back up wires and just swap them when they break. Any decent wire is more than enough.

I think the only real allure that draws people to the MSD coils is that they are red in color. If they were something mundane like brown or taupe...no one would buy them.

A can of spray paint is cheap and has the same effect.

I painted mine with red caliper paint, it's high temp and gloss red. A bunch cheaper then $700.00

I bought a fresh set of OEM wires from the dealership not long ago, and they were red.

Default Absolutely nothing wrong with stock parts...

  • stock injectors
  • stock spark plugs
  • stock wires
  • stock intake manifold
  • stock heads
  • stock air intake
  • stock pistons
  • stock crank
  • stock block
  • stock radiator
  • stock rods
  • stock coils
  • stock brakes
  • stock rotors
  • stock water pump

And probably a few other things I'm forgetting at the moment.

They're polished aluminum from Billet Custom Products, a board vendor. Very nice quality but not cheap.

You can email them: sales@billetcustomproducts.com

It's been quite a while though, not sure if they're still making them.

I wanna see more pics of the wire management. Looks pretty good and something that's driving me nuts right now trying to address.

And do you offer any sort of custom engraving on the coil covers? Like maybe the black covers with some LS7 lettering or the vette flags?

Yes
We offer laser etching if you can just furnish us a Hi Res JPG file!
The wiring is not difficult at all. I used a extension for the o2 sensor.
Thats it.
