Looking at a used ZO6, would this cause you any concern?
Currently drive a 2008 C6 coupe, but for years have wanted a ZO6. I found a used 2012 ZO6 with 4,822 miles at a Chevy dealer in North Carolina.
Here is the history of the vehicle according to the CarFax:
1/17/12: vehicle is delivered to a dealer in Illinois
3/21/12: vehicle has 801 miles and is sold at auction
5/18/12: vehicle is reported as purchased in Illinois
2/28/13: vehicle is traded at a dealer with 3,956 miles
3/14/14: vehicle is sold at auction
3/17/14: vehicle lands at the dealer in North Carolina and is for sale
Why would this vehicle have been traded so quickly and end up at auction? Would this cause you any concern? Thanks!

I would try and get the vehicle's Service History to determine if it was problematic. GM will sell problematic buyback cars at auction. I bought an 05 Corvette brand new in 04. It was a lemon. GM bought it back. GM ended up selling it at auction.

No offense to anyone on the board, but as far as it being bought and sold and bought and sold I think that is okay. Reasoning is some guys hitting 40 or maybe older gents need a boost buy these type of cars, realize its not practical or right for them and sell.
I see the z06 being sold all the time right after they are bought in my area.

Like others said, get a service history. If it is having mechanical issues that will show up on the GM service report.

When dealers receive trades on cars that are really not what they offer, like a speciality item like this, they sell them at auction. This is normal.

I am the third owner of my 08Z. First owner had the car for 2 months, 2nd owner had it for 16 months, I've owned it for 6 years. By the way the CarFax should show you some registration/inspection and service history as well. You need to tie all of that together with the GM service history. I think it is called GMVIS. This will show you any warranty repairs along with the mileage. It will not show individual dealer service history such as oil changes and other things that GM doesn't track.

Yeah that's nothing to worry about IMO. I know lots of guys that have the money to switch it up every few months and that's what ends up happening. Yeah they lose money each time but it's just money.

Also depends on what the buyback was for. I bought an '08 in jet stream blue for substantially less than book value. The buyback was for scratches on the drivers side interior door handle. Dealership wouldn't replace the door handle so the original owner said FU, it's yours, I want my money back. Insane.

My car has had 5 owners. I make 6. It was in pristine condition when I bought it (still is), just a few more miles. Some folks buy them and then decide its not for them. Ride is too rough, want an auto, too much power, etc.
