Need tire soon... Which one's should I go with?
I know the R888's are the best for grip, but I'm hearing that they don't last very long. Can someone suggest a tire that get's better grip than the stock goodyear supercar's with a decent lifespan?
Who's running what and why do you like/dislike them?

I've been running Michelin PS2 tires for 4 years now and highly recommend them. They do everything better than the Goodyear Supercar, plus they last. I'm at 30k miles and they have more life left.

NT05s tend to ride like **** and are noisy. I have an almost-new set of Bridgestone RE050A run flats on my stock polished Z06 wheels with under 3k miles that I will be posting for sale shortly. They've VERY grippy (hook in first gear) and the ride quality is very nice. If you're not looking for a run flat tire, I highly recommend the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

NT05R's will give you the most straight line traction. I don't know about them being noisy as my car is loud anyways. I'm making mid 600whp on motor. With 20-23psi and the tires warm, they (NT05R's) hook very well for what they are. The other tires I had on there before (kumho escta 345's) would basically blow the tires off in 3rd gear with TC off, with TC on it didn't go anywhere.

Michelin Pilot SuperSports will have more grip than NT05's and last 2-3x longer. If you want a runflat then either the Bridgestones or PS2s are a good choice.

I switched from Michelin Pilot super sports to Michelin Cup tires. These are real tires that will grab the road so much better than even the super sports. These are the best tires I ever had. Run flat's all suck really bad. Also contrary to popular belief these are really good in the rain. The only draw back is the 80 tread wear rating. I'm guessing we'll get 4-5 K miles out of these.

At HPDE's, I've only been passed twice, both times by R comp tires against my Mich SS tires. One car was a NEW Ferrari, the other a NEW trailered Porsche.

Toyo R888's and MPSC's are track tires that are streetable. They are not street tires. I am happy with my R888's to drive several hundred miles to the track, run them and drive home. I'd feel the same about the MPSC's. I would not consider either as daily street tires.
Hoosier R6's are quicker track tires, but I wouldn't want to drive them to the track and waste a couple of heat cycles.
The PSS are fine street tires that work well on the track, for street tires.

I have nitto but have PS2's on the C6 Coupe and will duplicate when the Z needs them.

I'm running the Bridgestone RE0505A run flats and they are better than the OE Goodyear's in every category, but are not a track tire like the Michelin Cups, etc.
23,000 miles and still have another 10-15,000 to the wear bars.

I went from NT05's to Michelin pilot super sports and there is no comparison in grip and all around performance. Couldn't be happier with the PSS's. I'll never buy another street tire that doesn't say Michelin on the side
