Default Does K & N Really

Does a K & N intake system really had 27 extra horse power? Does anyone have any dyno proof. There's a guy on Craigs list that has a used one for $200 I was thinking about.
Thanks

I have one I will sell you for $150 in great condition. I would trust the forum over CL too.

6-8 hp, like all of the other kits out there.

Maybe going from a plugged and dirty filter to a fresh K&N.....or adding a tune with it, but not by itself.

Save your money. These and all aftermarket intakes are a waste of cash. Even if they got 30 HP increase, you would never notice it on the Z.

I can tell a difference with it on... And on side note, you would feel an added 30hp on a vett.

I dont know if any of you actually have any experience with the K & N air filter, but I installed mine on the dyno, and gained 21 rear wheel horsepower, that I can actually feel. No other mods.
I bought my 09 Z used and the k&n was already on it. Well one day the check engine light came on and the dealer said it was the k&n system and my mass air meter. Long story short, They put on a brand new stock mass air meter, filter and housing. On the way home the car just felt slower but more controllable cause it had a lot less wheel spin. So that weekend I took it to a local dyno with the stockfilter on and it made 455 rwhp ,432 tq std. It took us ten min to put the K&N filter back on with the old mass air meter now cleaned with mass air cleaner. 476 hp , 446 tq std. So I left the k&n on and no more check engine light.
