To me the C6Z06 is the most impressive car Chevrolet has ever produced. I opted for the 13' GT500, but It wont be too long before I get my hands on one. I cant speak for track times, but I know that on the street C6Z is a force.

I think the later performance nannies are a little more sophisticated, however, I bet once you feel you have the track down, off go the nannies. That way it's full non-adjusted HP that you control............................

Yeah yeah I know you are a big track guy.

Certainly there are some C7s running the same tracks you do, do you have any observations on how fast they are?

Not really; my rudimentary understanding is that there are some things you can't turn off, depending on what particular model is involved (C6/C7, which is why they are not equal in the computer assisted driving department).

And as shown in the video earlier in the thread (post #25), Milner was faster with some of the nannies on. If the C6 he was driving had the C7 nannies (such as eLSD), he would most likely have been faster still.

So, as I noted earlier, it's not necessarily the best car that wins these days, but more likely the best computer control system.

Hahaha. Track Rat, yes

So far there has only been ONE C7 show up on a track day that I attended. He ran respectable times but not fast. And I don't know his level of competence.

I know there are some internet videos of professional race guys running the C6Z06 and they always prefer to have all nannies OFF. I recently got to drive on track with Guy Cosmo who was driving my friends Z06 and he too ran with all nannies OFF. One has to assume its FASTER that way

I think I'll miss the 427 until I put my foot into the 650hp supercharged 350.

I do really like the idea of the 427 and I've really enjoyed the last five years I've been dailty driving it. Best car I've ever owned for sure (and my third vette over the last 15 years). It's the first car I've ever considered just keeping forever.

Yes, you are correct. I was just verifying that competent drivers want to feel in complete control..............an old man like me would need nannies.
On another note, race setting 5 on my car seems to turn off all cornering nannies and returns full acceleration to the car (at least that is what the manual indicates ?). I'm not experienced enough to know if this is true. or if there are still some controls to the handling. I wish I was good enough on the track to feel the difference and confirm ???

There will always be some who Love the 427 over any other engine. the ls2,3,9 motors last longer with mods and higher compressions and such because the ls7 cylinder walls are thinner. But if you put the same mods on both engines the bigger inches are always going to come out ahead. I love my 427. for me there is no other

Regarding the nannies and being faster or slower, I recall a review of the C7 with Tanner Faust and he was faster with nannies off. Also Milner was faster with it off than 80% of the modes he tried out.

Too bad the most of us aren't as good as Tanner or Tommy.

In the interest of clarity, in the C6 ZR1 Milner was fastest with some of the nannies on (Mode 4, I believe).

Of course this won't go down well with the testosterone crowd

You can't turn all the computer aids off in the C7 (eLSD for one).

I would agree that over 100 is way more likely. Not that it couldn't happen, but I would be personally surprised to see a fully loaded C7 Z06 for under that What's the sticker on a loaded Carbon now...$98k?

A quick browse through past window stickers (including my own) shows the pricing history for just the standard vehicle pricing - zero options (well with exception to the 1993 pricing as the ZR1 package was an option)

2002 Z06 ~$50,500.00
2003 Z06 ~$51,000.00
2004 Z06 ~$52,000.00
2006 Z06 ~$65,000.00
2008 Z06 ~$71,000.00
2011 Z06 ~$74,500.00

1993 ZR1 ~$66,000.00
2013 ZR1 ~$111,000.00
