Default Two z06's on the autobahn ;)

Ran into anothe z06 on the autobahn, so we had some fun.

I talked to the guy afterwards (he is a german that imported his z06 a few yrs ago from the states) and he only had an intake filter (k/n). I mean, i was a bit faster, but not by much the only difference i know of is that his gas tank was on empty and mine was full... Both had passengers.

I have catless headers, xpipe, cai and a tune (plus american heritage reworked heads).

Enjoy! (I think at one point i hit 195mph)

Yep, I'd be pretty nervous following that closely at those speeds. Looks like fun though.

U get used to high speed... Its actually not as dangerous as people make u believe in the US. Modern cars are actually quite stable at 100+mph. We have a lot of us mil members bring their us spec cars, and ive driven in most. 100mph, is not a big deal for any car made after 1998. A z06 at 150-170mph is not that bad, actually quite comfy, it does get a tad jumpy past 180-190mph.

Oh, and pls guys dont think roads in germany are better than in the US, thats a myth... Well, in some parts of US im sure the roads are bad, but most turnpikes and freeways are much better. The thing that allows for such high speeds is left lane rule, and generally better drivers ed/more stringent drivers exams.

Idk man, the Autobahns in Bayern and Baden-Wurttemberg were the best freeways I've ever driven on, especially the A81 between Stuttgart and Wurzburg, A9/A93 north of Munich, and the A3 between Nurnberg and Regensburg. YMMV I suppose.

I do agree with stability of modern cars. I've pegged the speedo on my old 2005 Mustang GT and I still felt confident in the ride stability, perhaps not so much in the brake department on the GT though I think issue is more in the tire rating of the car, a lot of American cars aren't wearing rubber that is meant for anything above 120 mph or so... lots of S, T, and U rated tires out there.

Your speedometer was set for KPH not MPH... Otherwise youde be blowing past the other cars like they were standing still. And theres NO WAY youde be able to take that curve at 160mph on such a bumpy road with street tires like youre claiming!!!!

Lol, no its in mph just look at the rpm in correlation to speed (4th gear tops out at about 160mph), then 5th high rpm plus if u put it on the bog screen u can see that speedo says mph

At 2:35 in the video... your speedometer seems to be at the 120mph range and if thats accurate then that really old camper youre passing up should be going 90-100mph because of the rate youre passing him up at.

And I really doubt that old camper is doing anything above 70mph.

Dude im really not here to have a pitty argument. Speedo is set in mph. A. Video on iphone always seems like u driving slow vs go pro vid (go look at my nurburgring vids with the bmw m3 vs the vette, all m3 ones are with a phone, vette with go pro). B. most cars on the autobahn are going 70-100mph.

Dude, its the autobahn. The average speed on there is probably 80. If you really want to **** everyone off drive 55.

I've driven on the autobahn a few times... Not in a Z06 but a Opel Vectra. I have family in Germany.

The slow speed of the iPhone might be the issue.. Still doesn't visually seem like the claimed speeds but whatever

WE organized a few years ago a tour in Germany with a lot of fast cars. The situation looks dangerous but the guy in the Fiat did know that we where going to overtake him with more than 300 km/h and wanted to film the speed difference. The black corvette was doing 325 on that moment of overtaking. Funny thing is that the driver in the Corvette was a American diplomat who was working in the Netherlands. The corvette had some tuning done.....

Fair enough, then you know how fast everyone goes on there.

I agree though when I saw the motor home and thinking... sheesshh how fast is that dude going in that thing.
