Is there any better choice over the stock AC plugs?

For a stock car, not really. Once you mod, yes.

I like the NGK plugs, 5ix, 6ix or 7ix depending on power level

My 08 z is completely stock and I changed to NGK tr6ix plugs. No more ping on heavy throttle.
