Perfect so far
Was wondering how many have not had one problem with their car since purchase? All the horror stories I've heard seems like I might be the only one. 08 V.Y. z06 bought in oct. 2012 with 8500 miles, has 10,100 miles now. I think it being stock might have something to do with it. I know I don't drive it much but when I do, best driving car ever!

Drifting
On my third Z, 5th vette in 10 years. no issues with the first one. Lost a clutch slave cylinder at the drag strip at 12,000 miles on the second one, the third one lost an engine at 42,000 miles (oil pump). In all three cars. they all ticked and I didn't care. I still have the third car with the new engine. it is the only LS7 I have had that doesn't tick. So, now I'm wondering what's wrong with it.

* Defective differential, entire unit replaced.
* 4 roof replacements due to recalls.
* And a series of minor annoyances, multiple engine codes.
* Valves wiggle tested and in spec, no thanks or help from GM.

Stock 06 Z with 19,400 miles. Purchased 3 1/2 years ago with 2,500 miles on it. Most reliable Corvette I've ever owned and I've had close to 30 over the last 43 years. Replaced the RF Tire pressure monitor, that's it

Burning Brakes
2008 Z06, bought it last year as a certified preowned with 6600 miles, have driven it 3K miles without any drivetrain problems and I am happy.
Minor issues: dashboard buzz that is likely due to it coming from the factory without the 5th (middle) clip on the windshield cowl, a 2 dollar part that I've ordered; mild brake squeek that is common and has resolved or greatly improved after I did the "bedding" routine; cat converter caused a code to be thrown, I took to dealer and there's a TSB on it, they reprogrammed and all is fine.
Like everyone, I dream of performance mods like SC or cam, but frankly, I'm very happy with the way it drives stock, it's my daily driver and the limits of the car far surpass anything you could use on the street.

Melting Slicks
Bought my stock 2006 with 20K miles in Dec of 12. Now have 37K miles on it. It's my daily. Only mod is CAI.
Problems so far:
Little trouble with reverse sometimes. Prob syncro going out, but easily avoidable by putting in 3rd then reverse.
AC bearing starting going out. Replaced that through my 3rd party warranty - $1800
Driver side seat warmer doesn't work. Didn't work when I got it. Was no big deal as I live in Houston.
I do have the ticking as others have claimed. Never had the guides checked. Have hit redline + limiter many times. Still running strong. My B2B warranty is still good for another 3 years or 68,000 miles on my odometer.

Burning Brakes
2007 with 46,000 miles, original owner.
* oil pan gasket leaking and was replaced under warranty
* warranty also covered a new shifter due to the old one rattling sometimes
I plan to put 100,000 + miles on it before I sell it. The guys that are nearing 200,000 miles on these cars are my heroes.
