Same guy, same building, same operation.

He does go by WCCH for the Corvette Challenge

Bump.

These valve issues have me hating my Z. I've only had it a month and I'm just scared to take it out and run it hard. It makes a faint shuffling sound and whistles slightly.

How is this okay for a 70k sports car? I just don't get it. Maybe I'll sell it and get a Cayman. What's sad is I've wanted this car for over 5 years and now that I have it I can't enjoy it

I spent about $2500 to get my heads "fixed" for the first time at 83,000 miles and have never looked back. I enjoy the car 100% more now. There is no such thing as a "cheap c6z" so whats a couple grand for piece of mind if you need it?

I'm a new owner of a '08 Z06.

I read a lot on this forum about valve problems and really scared now.

After driving it for a while , Got in love with this car. But I'm nervous about the valve issue !! I really dont want to end with a blown engine !! That would make me so desperate !! lol

It's a weekend car, and few 1/4 runs during the year.

How can I prevent or avoid the valve problem ? Some say just don't red line it , and shift at 6500rpm.

What options I have ?

Does replacing heads with all internals fix the problem ?

I don't mind paying up to $2000. Lot better than paying for a LS7 engine !!
I hope my contribution makes you a little less afraid. I purchased my 2007 ZO6 new 61 months ago. 45500 miles later and one time in the shop at 14K for a catalytic convertor I have found this car to be one of the most trouble free vehicles I have ever owned. All ZO6 owners I have had the pleasure of meeting which are many have shared the same trouble free experience. Change the oil at 5k intervals and wait until the oil temp gets to 160 before getting on it and the odds are with you that you will share in the same joy of ownership as we have.

Caymans and other flat six Porsches have well known issues with their intermediate shafts which like to break and cause the rest of the engine to be very unhappy. I bought my GS as an alternative to a Cayman I had my eyes on. I'm glad I did. I can't afford the $20K+ to resurrect a Cayman motor.
