Prices on Z06-C6
It seems like sellers are still trying to get $40+ on their 06-08 Z06's, but none are selling. I'd say it is going to be $35k, or less, to move one. Thoughts????

Thoughts? Who the xxxxxxxx cares? You are wrong, they are still selling for over $40k. Here is the scenario, the car you speak of is worth more than $35k. So why would anyone sell for less. There are a bunch of wanna be owners out there that will never own this wonderful car because they just can't afford to. So they come on here and complain about the used prices out there. Move along. My 2008 NADA and Bluebook is $49k. Please explain to me why I should sell it for $14k under that?
Oh wait because the ugly, slower C7 is out? Nope, sorry.

I asked a guy a local car show the other day how much he wanted for his 06 ZO6. It was all stock with not even a brake pad change. He only had 1900 miles on it. My jaw hit the floor when he said $65K was how much he wanted for it. Given he wasn't "selling it" per se....but I asked him if he had to sell it, how much? And that was his response. Interesting note, I bought my 07 in Nov 12. It had 24K miles on it and the cheapest I could talk the guy down to was 44K. This really is what they're worth. My insurance still holds the value at 53K. Keep in mind the cars were anywhere from $90-105K when new from a dealership. The fact that you can find some low mile examples for ~$40K is quite a bargain if you think about it.
To use your figure...I did know of an 07 with 19K miles that was offered at 35K. The car had a salvaged title though, so I passed on it. Even though the car was clean (repaired by GM), I didn't want a car that had been damaged, and I wanted a clean title. That peace of mind was worth the extra 9 grand.

^^^$40k is a steal...
Again the trolls need to get over it, I really don't see the need for a new thread every damn day about this.
The funny thing is when you think, what's mine worth? Well I wouldn't trade anyone on here straight up for a new C7 lol!

OP: used ZO6 pricing though "usually" looks like this: (search function will confirm this)
06-08 $42-52K
09-10 $52-60K
11-13 $60-70K

But a quick look at Autotrader shows about 30 for sale nationwide between $34K and $40K, some high mileage, some not, and I think we can safely assume that any of those could be bought for anywhere from $1K - $3K below the advertised price so I'd say you're not too far off...
...depending on the car.

Just like everything else when the new model rolls out the prices will drop on the older models. In a few months once they start taking order on the C7 Z06 do you think they can still hold their prices?

Yes I do. Considering the fact that the new Z06, when there is one will sell new in the $110,000 price range I think price and demand will be high for some time to come on the C6Z06.

What's the base C7 MSRP? What was the base C6 MSRP?
When calculating anticipated C7Z cost, extrapolate using that factor of increase.
I'm going to be buying one, and I will be paying no where close to 110k.

I love my '08 Z06 and have no plans to sell it for quite awhile so I'm not all that interested in the values on these cars. Besides, I didn't buy it to make money. All I can say is it's an amazing car and may well be the last of the 427's in Corvettes.

Geez Ibleedgreen. Take it easy. We all realize you own a Z06 and are likely terrified about the value of it.
It must be a terrible burden for you, that someone might hold a belief that doesn't coincide with yours. I suppose you could either be tolerant and understanding, or you could ridicule them on a public forum.
I've heard it says a lot about the character of a person as to which they choose . . . . .which are you?

I suspect the C7ZXX (whatever it ends up being Z06 or ZR1) will certainly top $100k loaded up retail.
But the base Z's (C7) will like hover around $80k with topped out version +$100K....
But, I do not see this affecting the C6 market. Yep, the Z models are a bargain for what their capable of, but, as they get older and used C7Z's come around....yep, they'll move downward.
But, that's later on, NOT NOW.

Another dreamer... Plenty of threads going on regarding this topic.
Last three yrs, prices have remained stable. They will continue for another 2 yrs or so I figure. By that time, the c7Z will have come down in pricing thus lowering the c6z value.
Also, just read a rumor today that the c7z engine will be the 6.2 supercharged. Sad... No n/a application. That alone will keep the c6z value to hold stable. Lots of purists out there who prefer the ls7 setup. Not to mention, these make amazing and consistent track cars.
Op: pony up and buy a clean Z. If you expect to wait for them to drop to 35k, you'll be waiting for a while. Unless a smokin deal comes along. Buy the car, start to enjoy it. It's just money, you'll make more!
Side note: almost bought an 07 Z Blk/Blk 2LZ with 20k for $34k. Seller sold it out from under me. The deals are out there, just have to look hard.

The base price on a C7 is starting at $51,000. It's on the Chevrolet website:
http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-stingray.html
Just wondering where that the price of the new base C7 Z06 would be? I'm not sure it's going to top $85,000 or is it maybe with all the options?

I don't see why you had to go up in arms about this! I believe he was just getting a discussion going about the C6 Zo6 price. In case you didn't realize, this tread was submitted under the "C6 Z06 Discussion" section. So lets take a chill pill.
I have been following the Z06 prices for quite some time now and I gotta break the bad news to you... THEY ARE SELLING FOR UNDER $40K and I have seen them as low as $35K. Before the C7 was in the headlines it was near impossible to find a C6 Z06 for under $45K unless there was someone leaving the country or needed the money more than the car. Yes, they are worth more but since the release of the C7 Corvette ENTHUSIASTS have been doing what they can to get their hands on them... Even selling their C6 Z06 between $35K-$40K.
If you don't want to sell your Z06 for $14K under what you think its worth, then don't! But with the current C7 base price as low as it is don't think that someone will buy your 2008 Z06 for anything near what you say it is worth. I'm sure if they have the money to buy your car they would rather spend a few extra $K and buy a new C7.

Ibleedgreen, just updated my current stable of vehicles in my signature. Let me list them for you. I don't think I qualify for your statement below! I was just creating a discussion about something I believed. Had no idea anyone would take it so personal that they made a fool of themselves.
2010 Lamborghini Gallardo, Yellow/Black
2004 Ferrari Modena, F1, Silver/Bordeaux
2005 Acura NSX, Red/Tan
2005 Chevrolet Corvette C6, White/Black
2010 Hummer H3, Silver/Tan (daily driver)
2012 Ford Expedition, Silver/Tan (my wife's "tank")

Some people want too much and some good deals out there. You can find them for $35k, but expect higher mileage. I paid $41900 OTD over 3 years ago for my 06 with 18k miles. I'm kind of happy the prices are stable because it seems with 33k miles it is still worth ~40k.
