[Z06] I'm out baby...I'm out

Mark...re-read my post and my point is obvious. This thread was started by someone who sold their Z for a Frontier out of fear and frustration with the LS7 ownership experience.
If you're so fixated on 2013 LS7s that fail due to oil starvation vs dropping a valve, which one would you rather have in your 2009?...
It wouldn't matter to a rational person, because the engine is toast either way. But maybe you have a preference?

Unlikely. Bronze guides, before someone else corrects you, but everyone knows what you mean
Two reasons, both of them obvious if one is familiar with valvetrain design, have been stated in GM publications as the reason for the sodium exhaust valves:
1. Light weight.
2. Reducing heat retained in the head of the valve.

But my question on the composition of the exhaust valves was meant to be more rhetorical - why is the supposed "fix" going to SS exhaust valves when GM intended for they to be hollow, sodium-filled? I get the bronze valve-guides and cannot possibly fathom why they just wouldn't start throwing them in there (especially when going back to replace them under warranty) as it's obviously not a cost issue (liability?), but if GM thought solid SS exhaust valves would have been good enough (low enough weight and the associated heat,) than wouldn't they have put them in there from the beginning, as they do on the LS9 and still do on the new LT1²?

Bronze valve guides, you're right - that's what I get for multi-tasking with six or seven windows open at the same time!

Just bought a 2011 Nissan Titan, 5000 mile, Crew Cab Loaded, almost nicer inside than my E63, However,it is a work truck, strange vehicle to switch from a Z06??
!! we had a Frontier CC, it was a excellent hauler. Enjoy.

The Nissan Titan is a good looking truck. What is the tow capacity?

The silly answer you will get is: "we've always done it this way".
Another silly answer you will get is: "we're scared of the hollow valve". Oddly enough, the sodium doesn't even factor into that answer (which comes from the 'sodium is the problem' shop).
As I have stated elsewhere, perhaps the LS7 configuration does not lend itself to the hollow sodium valve. But there is no concrete evidence to support that, and GM continues to use it in the LS7 Camaro. So... who TF knows

Time to move on. If I were a mod this would have been locked a LONG time ago. I guess they are too busy fixing all the stupid crap posts in the many dropped valve threads.

GM has a great marketing edge
I would love to hear the Chevy marketing team trying to drum up sales in a meeting,
"Well they know about our poor reliability, crappy customer service, the fact we had the number 1 spot in the US, and let a Japanese and Korean carmaker push us down to 4 or 5" maybe this well help Prius, or Mustang, of Frontier sales, that is it, we can sell other company's cars"
Just a little poking fun. Don't take it too hard. It is hard to see the real facts when your only way to respond to the OP is to be rude, nasty and make some serious off color uncalled for remarks.

The new frontier is nice enough to make me entertain getting rid of my Acura. I still have my heads/cam c5 for spirited runs.
Yeah, I joined this forum 10 years ago, bought two vettes, contributed to discussions all along just so I could get your reaction to a troll post.
