Royal Purple actually performs fairly poorly. If you want a top performing oil that will not break the bank, go with Pennzoil Ultra.

If you are ok spending a premium then consider RedLine. You can order it online from Summit, Amazon, etc for around $45 per gallon (so $90 for a 2008).

i live in bahrain ( middle east) ,,we have dealers for RP and mobil1 and some other brands...

but redline none of them,,

if i order oil i will pay more $$$$$$$ for international shipping

so thats why i am between RP AND MOBIL 1 because its easy to get.

Joe Gibbs Racing Oil is the choice of MANY top engine builders. They see more wear from racing than most other people do. I trust my engine builder and want to do pretty much everything he recommends. Joe Gibbs is what he tells me I should run. So I do!!

Joe Gibbs is good. I run amsoil. Out of your two choices I would just do M1 over RP.

Never had good luck with RP. Seen way too many turbos fail when using RP oil. Seemed to be a common thing getting turbos back with bad bearings, and for a time most of them were using RP oil. Just never liked it or had good experience with it. M1 is ok if you get the high mileage or euro blend.

Overall I run amsoil now and wouldn't switch back.

Default M1 0-40

If you can't get RedLine, You might look into the M1 0-40 Euro Spec.

Whether you use RP or M1, either will do the job. I use M1, but as the posts above indicate, there are a lot of personal favorites.

When choosing an oil filter us the NAPA Platinum. I'l find the test a CTS-V owner did with all the filters and it out performed all of them and is only 8 bucks.
