Default How to get the exotic exhaust sound??

My C5 Z had the cats delete and with an aftermarket cam, headers and stock titanium mufflers, etc. sounded very wicked and exotic.

My new Z06 sounds pretty mild by comparison.

What is the best way to get a more wicked exotic sound? I like the bypass mufflers and would like to keep them. Quiet on date night and loud when the bypass is on.

Edit, sorry was half asleep the first edit.

Heads, cam, long tubes and the exhaust of your choice.

My bad, my C5 Z had a stock exhaust, the headers, cam and cats delete gave it a great sound.

I would prefer to keep the stock mufflers since I have the selectable bypass. Would headers, cam and cat delete get me a good exotic sound?

Akrapovic exhaust. Pricey but more exotic sounding. Everything else (longtubes, cat delete, etc) sound more "muscle car" rather than "exotic."

Corsa exhaust and nothing else will do it. Corsa, headers, cam, heads, etc. will REALLY do it.

ARH 1 7/8's w/ cats and ZR1 bi-mode Mufflers Sound Amazing in my H/C/I Z06. The ZR1 mufflers are the way to go IMO. Sound much better than stock Z Mufflers.

My vote goes for corsa even though I have B&B bullets without mufflers. To me corsa has that V10 rasp sound compared to my bullets

When I was building my Z06, I had looked at all kinds of exhausts and ended up going with Akrapovic. The top end of that exhaust sounds amazing.

Edit: Mods included heads, Kooks long tubes & x-pipe, and Akrapovic axle back

I threw a quick video together of a recent trip through the mountains where I went through a tunnel. It gives a pretty good (not great) idea on the sound.
