How easy or difficult are these to change out for your average shade-tree mechanic?

Just bought my new to me 07Z and these DRM shocks came installed on it. Having had a totally stock 07Z before, I can say these are a definite improvement in both ride quality and suspension performance. Some of that may be the tires too(Mich compared to the stock run flats). However, dampening seems much better overall. Steering feel to me is even improved.

Stock shocks were ok, but in cornering my stock Z felt a bit twitchy or unsettled. I wasn't very confident in my skills in that car, tbh I felt my C5Z handled "better". Let me clarify by saying I'm 100% sure the C6Z was a MORE capable car in handling and even with my meager skills I could probably drive it faster than my C5Z. However, what I mean by my C5Z handling better was that I felt more locked in or in tune with the C5Z chassis(2001Z btw with stock susp). When I started looking for another vette, having been vetteless the past couple of years, I started looking at C5Z's for this very reason, as well as the price of course. However, some dumb luck in the stock market allowed me the possibility to explore used C6Z's and I did love the look ALOT more in the C6Z, no offense C5 guys, I would own one in a heartbeat if I could afford both . I stumbled upon this car modded this way by happenstance, not by choice of needing these DRM suspension components.

Let me summarize by saying to me the feel is NIGHT AND DAY different. It makes the C6Z feel settled like my C5Z was, and now I feel in tune with the car like I felt in the C5Z. Enough so that I would never ever own a C6Z w/out this mod. This would be my FIRST mod for sure no doubt about it.

Hope this helps anyone on the fence about whether or not they should get them. My experiences or opinions are just that, and some may prefer stock or other shocks etc... Just offering my 2cents for whatever it's worth

Get out from under that chair. Over 60 percent of the shocks sold were installed in the home garage. With some hand tools and time it can be done. Send over your email in a PM and I will fire you some instructions. Then you can decide if it's something you want to handle. Shops will charge 100-300 depending on location and the way they bill.

I need to get a bonus or something quick. I had to cancel my last order because I cut my hours down to school. I would really like these.
