[Z06] Anyone had their valves checked and all IN tolerance?

Anyone had their valves checked and all IN tolerance?
I know, I hate this topic too...
As my warranty nears expiration, I'm thinking about getting my valves checked while I am at the shop next time and this just got me thinking:
Has anyone had their valves checked and the test showed that all are within tolerances? We see all the posts about tests showing excessive movement, but I haven't seen the vise-versa. Just curious...
Thanks!

I had mine checked when my heads were done. I was told they all were in spec. I did not get any true measurements but they did not see any issues. I had the valves done anyways. Better safe then sorry. Car was an 08 and had 19k miles.

My warranty expires next month (may) on my 08 Z06 Able Chevrolet in Rio Vista Ca. is going to do the wiggle test and they will fix a oil leak that will be covered under warranty. I do not mind paying for the wiggle test on the valves at least if all is in spec will have peace of mind. Will keep you updated !!

Was going to have my valve springs replaced for preventative maintenance, but when he pulled the springs and did the wiggle test, it failed. Got heads replaced under GM warranty, but he did find one valve with 80 thousandths of "wiggle" in it. Got lucky I didn't snap a valve off. And had just returned from a weekend at the track.

I dropped off my new to me 07 this morning to have a few things done one of which is checking the valve guide wear.
They didn't seem the least bit surprised that I was asking for them to be checked so I must not be the first.
Will update with results.

Let me know if you hear anything. I live in DFW and would really like to test the valves on my 06 Z at a reputable dealer.

Most definitely get them checked.

At 10K miles on my stock LS7, the worst guide in my heads measured almost 50% of the way through spec(exhaust). So, all my guides were within spec, but exhausts had definitely started the pattern.

I have my guide measurements back already.
Every guide is within spec. All of the exhaust guides are in the process of tapering from top to bottom, very common as most of us know, but my 10K mile LS7 heads are actually in relatively good shape. I did not peg Darin for a milage to destruction guess, but he repeated a statement he made to me before I decided to bring the heads to him; once the stock guide material starts to wear, it will consume itself over a rather short period of time(in relation to bronze).
Let me try to put the info in here:
Cylinder
1 IN - .009-.001 EX - .0011-.0015
3 IN - .0015-.0016 EX - .0011-.0015
5 IN - .0015-.0018 EX - .0013-.0015

Last month I asked my dealer to replace all the valve springs on my 2008 (preventive maintenance) and also had him do the wiggle test "while he was in there". The engine is stock and under warranty until Dec 2015. All the valve guides checked out OK.
I realize that test isn't as definitive as measuring the valves and guides directly, but I saw no reason to pull the heads.

tolerance. I did go ahead have yellow terra roller rockers installed as
a little added piece of mind.

No, they didn't. Unless you consider .0000 to be the starting spec (it is not). At .0011 - .0020 your exhaust guides were well within spec for brand new heads and possibly (but not probably) had no wear at all. Were they wearing towards the typical bell mouthed bottom? There is a minor trend, also observed on the intake side. But "half worn out" is not representative of the measurements, by any yardstick.
I let my head builder be the judge of that. Your comments are basically worthless in this realm. He stated very clearly, and I repeated in that post, the exhaust valves had started to taper from top to bottom. That is not a machining issue, that is a wear issue, so all wear numbers associated with it are as such. My intakes had not tapered, according to my builder, so they are actually fine.

Anyone that has had the dealer do the "wiggle" test that came back with NO problem - how much did they charge for the check?
I'm having an oil leak (pan) looked at, and will ask for the valve guide check also (08 with 24k miles).
Thanks - Jim
