[Z06] Stock Z06. Which clutch?

Stock Z06. Which clutch?
Hi! I've already searched a bit and decided to make a post to hell clear things up a little.
So here is the situation: I have a factory stock Z06, plan on drag racing and do road courses in it in the future. Going to keep it stock.
And now the question: my clutch has worn out. Are the aftermarket clutches really worth the premium in my position?

I'd get the clutch out and inspect it.
If the pressure plate is good, put a higher-performance, aftermarket disc in it along with a new release bearing and go to the track.
I like McLeod clutch parts. While I have just the stock pieces in my 12 Z06, I have McLeod in my '04 Z and in my '95. Great stuff.

LS9R or LS9X from Katech. Second choice would be Centerforce for a stock C6Z.

go with a new stock clutch if your keeping your car stock. The stock clutch does ok at every thing, I ran a 10.53 @ 131 with my bolt-on car with the stock clutch.

I'd go with the Katech LS9X/LS9R setup. It gives you the benefits of the ZR1 clutch with none of the drawbacks of most aftermarket clutches. Driver-wise you won't even know it's there.

Drives like my other car with the stock clutch.
The 600 rwhp smoked my stock one!

Your clutch is worn out. Ok now you replace it with another stock as I did and it will go again. So it's about a $850 dollar bill just to change out a clutch with many shops unless you do it yourself. So put in a good twin once, one install and will not have to do it again. Once I had a better clutch put in the difference was noticeable again and again on hard launches.
Good luck

Do the LS9 clutches help eliminate the stupid clutch slippage that the stock Z06 clutch has? Twice ive had the pedal hang on me on a downshift into 3rd for aggressive acceleration.

Have you flushed the fluid lately? Katech sells upgraded master and slave cylinders that can be added to the LS9X/R clutches as well...

It was slightly discolored but nothing close to what I've seen others have looked like.
I've done another 3 changes over the past month and its pretty much clear each time. Im probably not releasing the clutch quick enough for the car
