Took my N/A build to the next level-13:8 compression +E85
My previous modifications
-Heads milled .040
-Widow cam
-FAST 102
-FAST 85# injectors and rails
-NW 102 throttle body
-Halltech CF112
-LG 1 7/8 longtubes
-LG x-pipe no cats
-Akrapovic exhaust
-100 dry shot
What changed
-Heads-WCCH stage 2 porting and angle milled .130 for approx 13.8 compression (XR head profile)
-Walbro 450lph fuel pump with Aeromotive external filter
-ARP head studs
-50 dry shot
This first graph shows my old pulls compared to this new setup. Solid gains throughout the power band. Note that I actually cut my nitrous in HALF and still gained a large amount of power in the midrange (more than the peak hp difference). All of these numbers are uncorrected. This is what the car actually made, no correction factors here Props to MyHardtop (Carlos) from Vette-Air on the tuning. WCCH also said that my stock guides were trashed, just fyi.
BLUE = Old N/A
RED = Old nitrous 100 shot
GREEN = New N/A
PURPLE = New nitrous 50 shot
Here is another graph of just the new setup by itself.

Great numbers!
How many miles on the stock guides?

Nice work!
I have always paid attention to your setup as I am planning on going with a similar build with E85, but less compression
Was the stock pump not able to keep up with the extra flow needed for E85? We're you running E85 before the new upgrades?

Safety Car
Impressive! Engine looks good too. Did you do the mechanical work?

Appreciate that. HPP in Lewsiville, TX turned the wrenches this time.
It is the first gen Widow cam from Vette-Air. I'm not sure Carlos would appreciate me posting up the exact specs.

I honestly can't recall. He mentioned the other day but like before, I asked him to tone it down. I don't mind leaving 10-15 on the table.

Former Vendor
Timing is at 23* down low, then 20* around torque peak and up to 22* out. AFR is in the 12.1 to 12.3 range on the punch, then 12.0 to 12.2 at torque peak and 12.3 to 12.4 out.
His car actually had more in it 26* down low, 22* TQ peak and 24* out with slightly leaner AFR across the board, but I prefer leaving power on the table for safety. Heck, I even programmed it to add fuel and pull out 3 more degrees of timing if IAT's and ECT temps get out whack. Believe me, you will not feel 10-15 hp.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Carlos

Burning Brakes
that is sick. I would do this in a heartbeat if I felt comfortable that I could get e 85 anywhere around here where I live in south florida. That this has got to rock out with that type of power and tq.

My E85 package hit's the dyno rollers this afternoon....but I'm only packing 11.6 on a .030.

Thanks. I am using a single solenoid mounted underneath the intake shroud. The line is then ran into the bottom of the filter. I have a microswitch that makes the ECU jump to a different set of timing tables when the nitrous is armed and the pedal is down. I also have a window switch to keep the nitrous going from 3500rpm-6500rpm.
