So now that we have seen the mighty C7...
Will you be making plans to get rid of your C6 Z06 for it?

I'll consider it after GM steps up to the plate and addresses the valve train issue. To many people spent their money supporting them and they shouldn't be rewarded by us giving them more.

No poll needed we zo6 guys stick to our cars why would get rid of this beast. First of even if heads and cam came out for these cars no way they will be in our league of 100 pounds lighter the torque won't be there..... But I want one Mookster... Now that car I wouldn't modify at all maybe wheels and exhaust..that car is pimp. LOL

I'm not selling my z period. I'm not a hater but I just like our cars style / performance attributes a lot better. To me the c7 looks more like a viper/Maserati/ hatchback camaro

I think the C7 is stupendous. It doesn't have everything I was looking for but the rev matching 7 speed is close enough to a DCT for now. I suspect the DCT will be there in two years. Car is lighter and weight has been effectively moved down to lower the CG. There won't be a wide body model since it already is the wide body model. Increasing the tread width brings it into the C6 wide body arena which really helps with the CG. I think it is going to be a real track dog. Beat on it day after day and it will take it. Now I will just have to take car of the C6Z so it is available to trade when the opportunity comes.

Mookster I think car weighs 3350 pounds stiffer but not lighter why. C6z is still the winner. That's light fat girl with no shoes on lighter right.....yea its lighter the frame but not overall car.... But I like it...

I like everything on the C7 but the rear. But it might grow on me. I'll have to see one in person and see how the car performs in the the real world before I rule it out. As of right now , the only car I'd replace my Z with remains a GTR.

I watched the live streaming unveiling last night and enjoyed it. The styling was not a surprise to those of us that followed along in the C7 section. I really like the design.
However, there is just no incentive for current Z owners to move to the C7 until they come out with the C7 Z car(s). My bet is a 700 hp, supercharged, lightweight. That may stimulate some interest

The rear styling might be a little over-the-top (though I do like the taillights), but otherwise the C7 is great looking, IMO. The interior's design reminds me of a few other cars' interiors, but it's nice looking and the quality appears better. This base C7 is pretty aggressive looking, way more the the base C6. I wonder how far they'll take the higher-end models, since small changes won't differentiate the cars that much.
Well done, GM and team Corvette.

why do you think GM will create a c7z06?
Look at production numbers last few years for z06. less than 500 each year.
I predict a ZR1 type or GS but no Z06- no big engines
Likely GS will be different cosmetics and wider tires.
ZR1 will be supercharged?
My guess is 2013 C6 Z06 will be last 427 thats one reason I bought one!
The Last of a great car
C7 will have its own great car but not for several years if Corvette survives???
Look at overall production- less than 12k total vettes each of last few years, this does not make bean counters happy and who runs GM?

A Corvette in my garage was only a dream until recently..The 08 Z is there, and I love it.
C7 interior looks great, exterior may need some softer edges, especially the door and rocker sculpting. need to see in person. As for power, not sure how you can compare. No sale. I am a satiated soul, but the C7 will have followers.

While it is exciting and entertaining to commentt on the new C7, I don't have any desire whatsoever in selling my 2012 CE ZR1. It is still very new to me and I still recall the press hype and talk about the 1968 Mako shark vette being so much better than the 63-67 Stingrays. I even bought into it for a while, but over time the 63-67's proved to be the ones desired and valued. The 67 427s of course are the greatest, IMHO.
Yes, I am in no rush to move to the latest shiney new model and I sure don't want to own the first version of that direct injection, cylinder deactivation, adjustable valve timing thingy. It will be a few years for the GM engineers to perfect that design. I am perfectly happy now.

The C7 will be a hit and the Corvette is very much alive. Part of the dwindling production numbers was the wait for the new generation. Only time will tell.
