Never said they were the "solution" but I feel they are as much of a "solution" as any other.
Every LS7 style head will be based off the factory heads to some degree. However these are PRC's own castings not factory castings.
PRC's shop is top notch, they have sold thousands of heads and I have confidence that these will be fine.

I saw 2 options when considering how to handle the LS7 head issue after verifying that my stock guides were toast.
1) send the stock heads out for CNC port, guides and valves (the CNC is not needed but I wanted to up the power while I was at it)
2) order new heads

1) would have cost approx 2K all said and done and my car would be down for about a month
2) was 3,050 delivered to my door and was in stock. The head is a superior casting vs. stock. The intake valves are coated, the CNC work looks great. I sold my stock heads for $1,000 so my out of pocket expense was about the same as if I had sent the stock heads out and the car was only down for a weekend.

Interested in results. I wish you milled the heads. Reguardless of the cam you would have made more power just by raising the cr.

Good luck

Just curious, but how do you know this to be a fact? What makes it superior?

Had it tuned today.

540HP/525TQ
Numbers are less than I expected but oh well, they are just numbers. Would probably make more on a different dyno. Car feels very strong and I will be taking it to the strip to see what it traps at.

The heads have alot more meat on them. Thicker deck, more material near the intake runners and rocker pedestals. Much better looking machining than the factory heads.

Good luck
Since the DCR is raised with the Katech cam and I am limited to crappy CA 91 octane I decided not to take any chances. The tuner said he has done it both ways and milling the heads usually didnt do much with the torquer cam on 91 due to having to pull timing. I'm not one to take risks for a few HP.

Not much traction, but its cold and my tires are due to be replaced. If I get a warm day I toss my R6's on it and have some fun.

Possibly more realistically, I feel my before numbers were pretty high for just longtubes and a K&N.

Default Numbers are fine

Your Numbers are fine mine put down a little more with 11:1: compression barely milled, stock intake and TB 565 495 gt-20 cam with 112 LSA... its how the car feels but again later im considering the fast intake also I know I will make 485 515 but again 1000k for 15hp not a fan of that amount......

Ya the FAST is a hard pill to swallow. Especially once you factor in the throttle body and fuel lines its closer to $2,000. For now I am happy, I can drive the car and not worry about it dropping a valve.

Congrats buddy! Did Rick tune it? Can't wait to see some trap numbers. Go the cheap route and port your stock intake manifold/TB. On a warm day lets line them up for a 3rd gear pull to see what I'm missing (closed course)

PS Just took the vette on a 1400 miles roadtrip to Vegas and back no problems.

Are you saying you picked up 40 rwhp with just the head change or 40 rwhp with a head change and tune? Was you car tuned prior to the head change?

You are about to convince me to go with the PRC's instead of sending my heads to WCCH.

Thanks

Mark

with headers and a K&N I put down 502/460. I personally feel these numbers were a little high for what I had done.
Now with the heads and a Katech 110 it put down 540/525
Keep in mind the katech cam is not a high HP cam. Easily could have picked up another 20-30 with a bigger cam but I wanted somthing mild with lots of midrange and the torquer fits that bill.
