Something people don't realize is these cars aren't on Kbb or NADA which usually means we the seller set the market price. The only thing we don't have any power over directly is auction prices and realistically a car like this goes to auction only when something is wrong with it or its taken in by a dealer that has no market for it.

The only problem is the market place is very limited for these cars which makes the demand lower which is what sets the price -" laffer economics 101".
its a luxury and people that can afford this level of luxury are few and far between. The really rich guys go out and get the "johnny come lately" new models. Then for the rest that are happy to take the sloppy second's - they have to scrape together the money. -- its tough for even relatively well off people to pull together 75 to 95k for a 200mph+ car. And its a used car at that.

Agree in theory -- however:

This is the truth right there in a nutshell.
Your 2011 nitroused ZR1 worth $95k? No seriously you arent putting in a insurance claim here pal Theres a 2011 ZR1 on ebay actually more than one at $85k and $90k. The 90k one has 900 miles on it. The $85k has 3000 miles on it. Thats about right. Yours would be worth around $65kish if they didnt know about the nitrous, the crazy owner etc.
As for the 2010 at $80k. I'll put it this way. I wouldnt pay more than $73500 for it. The C7 hits in a month, its a year older, warranty about to expire or may already have, tires probably getting very close $$. Despite the C7 possibly looking uglier than sin, the dealers are still going to push that your preowned corvette is worth less

I've been watching the prices on these cars for years. I can say that they hold the value better than any other car. The mystery is not played out yet. There are some very nice '09s with low miles that still command 80-90K. Recall when the new cars were impossible to get for less than 120-130K. There are so many cars that people keep in the garage with low, low miles. I need to jump on one soon. Have noticed that the black cars are very scarce. Will not worry much about tires for the right car.
