Halltech ZR1 LPE GT2 Hood Preview
This is a prototype being tested for fitment by Eric. As far as we can tell, it will only fit the LPE snout. We may be able to adjust the opening to work with the stock throttle body, but that would be another project.
We should have this project close to completion by year end.

Our 13:1 561RWHP Z06 saw reduced water temps of 25 degrees two years ago during 70 degree weather. 160F thermostat still registered at 185 to 195 all the time, with E85 and our high CR.
On the trip back from our carbon fiber shop, same day and weather, the ECT went down to 167F to 170F (stopped).
When we we at the Autobahn Katech Track Attack, our water temps never exceeded 201F after 5 hard laps. We had Short Throw in our car at the time.
Another customer with our hood had the same experience with his Katech build and our GT2 hood.
Here are some pictures of the Halltech GT2 Hood on the Z06. Same exact design, but sans the window. http://www.halltechsystems.com/Hallt...Hood-p/gt2.htm

Eric had a Z06 with our hood onboard, and before he sold the Z06, tried fitment on the ZR1 with the stock snout. It just made contact with the throttle body in the arch we have built in, but a slight amount of tweeking would likely open that area up to fit.
The window is not the stock window. There was not enough room to install the stock unit without redoing the $20,000 mold we have done.

It will with minor trimming in the waterfall area. Once I get the prototype hood I will clearance it for both the factory snout and LPE snout and send it back to Jim to get it into production. I think this hood will aid in keeping the ZR1s temps in check.

Good deal, as you would be severely limiting your market if the hood only fit the LPE snout/CAI

Seriously, Halltech's hood is top notch. Even the painter commented on the quality of the hood. He stated that he has painted several aftermarket hoods for various corvettes and this one was the best by far.
When I was have some issues making final adjustments (getting the front to sit flush), Jim quickly responded to my email and helped me out with some "tricks".
I think this hood will look sic on a ZR1.

The window we had just wasn't a quality piece so the hood manufacter is making a mold of a 2" shorter version of the OE ZR1 window. The window will be made of the the same material as the OE window. Hopefully have it completed by the end of March.
