2007,bought showroom new 12/07 from Diamond Chevy Worchester Ma. No motor issues or V.T. noise what so ever. No oil issues. Street driven, brisk acceleration at times .motor is bone stock. And I think this matters, the FRC's were removed at delivery .My belief is the engine heat dissipates more rapidly without them.

I think your choice of oil is more significant in dissipating heat from the guides and heads than removing the engine covers.

I wonder why the first 250 polls posted on here over the last year were not good enough to get the information the OP wanted.

2 engines blown.
First after 32.000 km and second after 60.000 km.
Car is stock, only killer bee intake,HRE dry sump system and bigger oil cooler.
First engine is replaced under warranty but with a lot of problems.
Had to threat them with a lawyer and it took 6 month before i could drive again.
Second engine was not a warranty because it was 2 month out of warranty.
Car still is in my garage for 18 months now with blown engine.......

Greg Jones assembled my '07 RF #51. Fabulous engine, now showing 69,457 miles and running as strong as the day it rolled off the line. Thanks Greg!

I have a totally stock 2013 427 that I bought new. It died at 5000 miles. It appears the connecting rods did not have enough clearance and ground bits of titanium into my oil. Chevy replaced the motor, I have about 500 miles on the new motor and so far, no problems.

How in the world has GM gotten away with this crap? Model year 06-13, and the engine still has the same issues. I'm shocked at how accepting of this some people are. The LS7 could've been great. Smh.

2007 third owner, 67000 miles car looked like it wasn't tracked but was using a bit of oil. Pulled the exhaust manifold and oil was caked with burnt oil and the valves were shot. New PRC heads no oil use since.

08 35,000 miles, stock, so far so good, I have an extended warranty and will renew it in September....
then will buy a 2015 C-7 ZO6, that should make the 08Z easier to sell
