427 Limited Edition Cooksey Z06 Photo Shoot
I had the chance to get some pictures of the 427 Cooksey the other day at a parking garage on campus at IU and thought I'd share. I thought some of the other 427 Limited Edition owners may enjoy them

Beautifull Z06!!! Please forgive my limited knowledge of special edition corvettes from any era. But what is the history of your z06? I can only assume it has to be the color( i love any shade of burgandy) also, i have never heard of Cooksey before. So what year or years was your Z built and are there any other options that were exclusive to your Corvette Z06. thanks........ z BTW. i just noticed your avatar, beautifull bro....

But basically the differences from a regular Z06 at that time is:
-the paint (only Z06 offered in crystal red)
-spider wheels (which were later offered on other models too after 2008)
-Exclusive dark titanium leather-wrapped interior which I don't have a picture of
-Crystal red interior console trim
-"427" embroidered seats and floor mats and hood badges
-Z06 sill plates
-Black stinger hood graphic
There may be some more but I can't think of them right now, but the only option you could ask for on this car was the navigation. Everything else came with it.
But the biggest part that made it a limited edition was the signed center console by Wil Cooksey Jr, who was the Bowling Green plant manager. This car was sort of a retirement car for him. His signature is under the center console of all the cars as well as their number. Ours is #302/505.
They made 505 total to represent the horsepower of the Z and only 427 were released in the U.S. to represent the displacement.
I believe its officially known as the "427 Limited Edition Z06" but at the plant and around the area people refer to it as the "Cooksey".

Yea no problem, it is a 2008 and that's the only year it was offered. Here is an article with some details as to what makes it a limited edition http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/14/2...-big-price-sm/
