Up until 12/31/12 it appears that you can buy a Vehicle 1 warranty if you have an '08 or newer.
Your profile though says that you car is an '07, so that's out.

Your only option appears to be a warranty from one of the other "third party" warranty companies, which may or may not be around should you need them, and which may or may not pay even if they are around.
At any rate, someone else mentioned Costco, and posted up their fees for various warranty coverage. Looks like a minimum of $2700.00 for the 36/36 with a $100.00 deductible, and $3,600.00 for the 36/36 with no deductible.
You might want to check your eligibility for it.

Two questions if you don't mind.
1. What warranty work did you have done during the first GMPP before you extended it?
2. Counting the cost of the first leg of the GMPP, plus the extension you just bought, about how much do you have into GMPP warranties?

As noted, you have to have an existing GMPP with at least 30 days before expiration (and a maximum mileage requirement that I'm not aware of) to get an extension. I just extended my original 72/72000/$200 Major Guard ($1400) for an additional 36/24000 measured from extension date for around $1150 (21000 miles on the clock right now). I had the oil pan gasket and ashtray door assembly replaced on the first Major Guard (rental car supplied) which probably brought the first GMPP to break-even. GMPP is transferable to the new owner of the car for $50, so it's good to have if you're planning to sell your car sometime before the final expiration of the policy.

2-Extension was $1540. I believe ?? the orginal GMPP was $1100??

Incidentally, I bought an alternator last night from Pep Boys for about $200.00.
Sway bar links and ash tray door, I'm wonder if both total came to $100.00.
Oh well, there is a lot to be said for peace of mind anyway. Can't put a price tag on sleeping well at night. Can't assign a dollar value to a good night's sleep.

I just had a buddy buy a GMPP from our local dealer for his C6. His 3/36 B to B expired in May, but the local dealer looked up his VID and it was accepted to go on the GMPP MajorGuard.
I did my GMPP thru Ficthner in July 5 weeks before the B to B on my 09Z expired.

So you have about $2,640.00 into it.

I paid $2500 for a Major Guard Policy in Feb 11 about 2 weeks before my B2B expired. 84 month/56K more miles/0 deductible. So far it has covered one wheel bearing, one tie rod end, 3 sway bar end links and the replacement of my Nav Radio for some sort of a weird software issue (Service Writer told me the refurb unit cost is ~$1200, don't know what the labor will be as it took several hours for the diagnosis). I figured ~ $360 per year for the amount I spent on the policy. At this point (21 months into the plan) the repairs to date have covered more than 50% of what I paid into the plan. Car will be covered until it is 10 years old. I take it to the dealer for all service such as changing oil/diff and transmission fluids but that doesn't cost much. GM gave me a GMPP 2 year periodic maintenance service policy as a way to make up for the 6 weeks it took to replace my engine last year so I have until October of next year to make maximum use of it. At one oil change per year the maintenance doesn't really cost all that much anyways. I have until Oct 2016 before the coolant needs to be addressed since it was replaced when the engine was replaced.

I have from now until late Spring 2013 to decide if I want GMPP or not. Other than the clutch dropping to the floor that is the ONLY thing it's 'had' to go into shop (dealer) for.
So is it really worth it?

Bought a GMPP for my '08 Z06 good 'til '14 in anticipation of C7's second year run. In the meantime covered by the specter of shelling out $15 large should my LS-7 injest a valve. Peace of mind, indeed.

http://www.nationalrepairsolutions.c...ty-quote/c1cn4 covered my Corvette for another 100,000 miles and the payment was reasonable. They were an aftermarket company, but still covered a lot.

Cost of my Extended Warranty from Chevy was 2100 on my 09 z. 3yr/75k...Very well worth it...Why? Because its at 13k miles and I drive it like it should be without worrying about it going BOOM...and if it ever does....hello new engine..

Agree. I extended mine only once and never had to have any work done on the car. Never renewed it on my 2007 since I felt it was a waste of money.

When I bought my '07 in Jan of 2011 I decided to go with the extended GMPP major guard, $50 deductible... here is what I've had to have done: oil pan gasket/rear main seal replacement (oil seepage on oil pan), power steering reservoir/drive belt/Z06 hood liner replaced when the PS fluid was leaking, steering rack assembly replaced, 1st-2nd transmission syncro replaced. I have no idea how much all of that would have cost but I am pretty sure it was more than the $2500 I paid for the GMPP. Obviously I extended it for another 36 months. That will be my last extension unfortunately but I am covered until September of 2016 or 59,000 miles.
