Default DOES your HOOD line up perfect on your c6z06

I got a c6z06 never been hit that i know of according to the carproof report. Its out down slightly on the side to the fender about 4mm. I had lower the latch to also line up the corners facing the windshield so it would fit perfect flush with the fenders. I also notice the front clip is slightly different color compared to rest of car which is yellow. Is your front clip slightly different color too and is your hood perfect i mean perfect. Please reply i would feel better if yours wasnt either.

The hood on my JSB isn't perfect. Driver's side in the rear sits a little too high and there is a just a small hint of it being slightly diagonal in the opening. Front fascia matches the rest of the car perfectly. The factory paints all of the body parts at the same time so the shade of the fascia should match the rest of the car as it was painted with the same batch of paint. There could be a lot of reasons why the fascia was touched up/replaced. From a scrape with a concrete bumper to hitting some small thing flying across the road (all it took was a contractor's paint bucket flying across in front of my C5 to rip the fascia beyond repair). Remember Corvettes aren't unibody cars and can take a pretty serious hit before major structural damage is done to the car.

No color match problem here but the hood isn't quite lined up with the other panels. It bugs me a little but not enough to go to the trouble of fixing it.

Same with mine. Although if I have to have the left front fender fixed from where the dealer "fixed" it after they wrecked it, I may talk to them about aligning it then.

There is "perfect" and there is PERFECT. Mine is darn good (JSB), but if I took a micrometer to it I'm sure it isn't PERFECT. Hight and alignment adjustments can be used to even gaps all around.

Jim

I just looked out in the garage - mine is really quite good.

At the front, my hood marches the front fascia at the center, but is low by around 1/32" to 3/64" at the corners. It isn't noticeable to me. At the rear, both sides are matched to the fenders.

You've got that right!

The left side of my dash (where it meets the door) has a 3/4 " gap when the door is closed.

The right side has an 1/8" gap.

I never noticed it until 6 months after my purchase and it bugs me to this day!

My 08 hood lines up with the fenders but the bumper is lower than the hood. Could use a tweak but I have more fun driving it.

Default c6z06

K guys could you check it this way. See mine straight on looks near to perfect. Now look sideways from the side of the fender on each side. Does your hood follow the top of the fender perfect all the way up. This is where i am getting a small gap going up slightly from the beginning and ending perfect at the back. I see the black weather stripping from the side almost but the other side is near perfect. I need to know because its bugging me so much imready to sell it because i think it may of been hit even the carproof shows it hasnt.

I carefully marked my hood when I did the H/C work and when I put it back on it did not line up very well. I messed with it for about half an hour and finally just gave up as I did not have the skill to get the hood aligned correctly. It was frustrating that I just did a Heads/Cam and could not line up the hood to save my bacon.

Mine lines up fine, but under certain light conditions, the front clip looks a slight different color (victory red)

Mine was not lined up very well when I bought it new. Since the accident, now it is so perfect all around the hood and both fenders. The original height on one corner was up about 1/4 inch and the gap between the hood and right side fender went from an 1/8 of an inch to almost 1/4 of an inch. It's just a matter of a fine adjustment.

Well guys took the front clip off to see where the problem might be coming from. The part where the top of the front clip screws into was broke making it sag in the front corner down. Wasnt the hood at all. Also seen on the front beam at the corner where the aliminum sticks out was hit. I did all my homework on this car and it came up clean title zero accidents car proof. Guess the guy fixed it himself without insurance. Sucks for me. I spent part of the day aligning the hood to the fenders so they good now. Then when i got the clip off aligned the right headlight perferct to match the left. My new piece comes in wednesday so when i put the front clip on im praying it all lines up or ill be selling it asap.
