Best I can tell this is a cam only LS7 with only dyno headers and tune...

I would think that with WCCH Stage 2 head work with 0.030 milled, FAST Intake, NW102 throttle body, Haltech MF103 that it would make at least 20 - 30 more HP on the engine dyno.....

I got fully ported heads equal to Livernois stage 3, ported fast 102, ported stock tb, forged pistons making the CR 11.5-1, AR LT's 1 7/8, Vararam with snake charmer, 3inch x-pipe with cats and b&b fusion catback...

As long as I'm over 570rwhp on SAE numbers I'll be happy... I wanna trap around 134mph... Is this goal unreasonable with the torquer 110 cam? I already have a mild cam in the car with unknown specs... Next week I'll finally know what the specs are...

Here's what my car sounded like before it popped...

I think I might make the switch to the 110 Torquer Cam...

It passes emissions here in Texas and IL - both states are very picky. It has been know to pass it in CA as well, BUT tuning is necessary.

Thanks,
Carlos

Hmmmmm... I know the black widow makes more power than the 110 torquer cam and if it passes the emissions tests down there then it will pass or be damn close up here... I know the 110 torquer cam passes but I'd rather have the black widow...

Mr. LS7 BUD

FYI, the Katech Torquer cam is a great cam, the Black Widow is more of a racy larger cam and it is not an apples to apples comparison.

Either cam can pass emission testing if tuned accordingly.

Thanks,
Carlos

I'd like to know how to tune for emissions tests. What does a person do differently that calibrate??

Tuning is recalibrating the goezinta's so that the goezouta's do what they need to do to keep the engine running stoic. Unless you force the ecm to run in open loop, it'll go closed loop and the trims will pull it to 14.7 afr. Spark is spark. The engine needs whatever advance it needs and it doesn't do a damn bit of good to move advance away from that point.

What am I missing? I am not aware of a hidden mystery button anywhere in the E38 tuning logic to press for performance mode / sniffer test mode.

I don't think air fuel is the whole picture with emissions testing. With that in mind, overlap will make a significant difference when getting tested. I imagine it could be tuned to pass sniffers, but drivability might suffer with an emission passing tune.

My guess would be that you would need one tune to pass emissions testing and another for accually driving it!!

You are right... My tuner said he wouldn't even let me drive it down the street on the emission tune...

Using lobes designed for 1.7 ratio rockers on an LS7 is asking for a beat up valvetrain.

Another guy to check out is Jones Cams. He's designed some Ls7 specific lobes and they work well for me!

Day after install and before tune.

Black Widow with Kooks + stock mufflers.
