Default Hey Z06 forum: anyone ever USE their GMPP or Vehicle 1 warranty??

I have heard nothing but good things with Vehicle 1 or GMPP (Im told they are the same company). Anyone here with a C6 Z06 and either of these warranties ever file a claim to use them? I just bought a 4 year Vehicle 1 warranty. Thanks.

We've used the GMPP on both of our C6s. It's definitely paid for itself on my Z06.

I was reading through the "fine print" on my Vehicle 1 warranty and it mentioned repairs would only be covered if the part was "broken". Did your situation fit that description?

I'm considering the purchase of an aftermarket warranty. Have any members experienced issues with getting warranty work approved?

They (end links) were not working as designed. Is that considered "broken" or just "worn out"? They made a clunking noise when transitioning over small bumps. Sounded just like someone was hitting the floorboard with a hammer. This was the 2nd time they've had to be replaced. The car is an '09 with 27K on it and they were replaced the first time at about 12K under the standard warranty.

Are you concerned about the verbiage?

bro·ken   [broh-kuhn]
verb

1. past participle of break.
adjective

2. reduced to fragments; fragmented.
3. ruptured; torn; fractured.
4. not functioning properly; out of working order.
5. Meteorology . (of sky cover) being more than half, but not totally, covered by clouds. Compare scattered ( def. 4 ) .
6. changing direction abruptly: The fox ran in a broken line.

The use of the word "broken" here sounds like lawyer-speak.

In (one of) my case(s) the car's charging system was being wacky. That fact was certified by the shop (Abel) and the system was made right. Just what was "broken" took some detective work but "not working as designed with resultant transformation of vehicle into static sculpture" would be the lawyer-speak *I* would use.

GMPP just covered replacement of the oil pan gasket. They denied coverage for the ashtray door (won't stay closed) and the shrinking carpet on the passenger side under the theory that they are "trim" items that are excluded. I consider this b.s. with respect to the ashtray door.

I've used GMPP on both my C5 and C6Z for rear diff issues. I've also used it on the Z for an ashtray door that wouldn't stay latched. No issues with coverage either time. I would definitely recommend it as an extended plan.

Interesting - maybe I need to file a complaint about GMPP not covering my ashtray door. Was this a Major Guard policy, and about how long ago did they cover the claim? Thanks.

This should easily go 10 pages, given the poorly designed LS7 and its inherent propensity to destroy itself in dozens of cars nationwide without rhyme or reason - there should be countless warranty claims on that issue alone!

Don't let this thread die talking about ashtray doors! Post up the good stuff!

A Bi-mode exhaust solenoid replacement was not covered by my GMPP but Stasek Chevy fixed it via "goodwill".

I would like to know the same. I just purchased a Z with Vehicle1 and I am keen on knowing the same thing.

When I looked Vehicle1 online, it seems they're owned by the same people who run GMAC and GMPP: Ally. Heard lots of opinions online but never heard about anyone's actual experience with claims on Vehicle 1.

Sorry I missed this. It was Majorguard that was purchased in 2009. The repair was done in 2011. I'll send u a PM as well.
