Default Priced too high?

Anyone care to chime in and let me know if my Z is priced too high to sell? I thought with the mods and very low miles my asking price was fair. Details below or see post F/s 09 VY Z06 in the For Sale section.

In Feb 12 I purchased a 08 3LZ Z06 W/6000 Miles, car is pristine!! not a scratch, never driven in rain etc... I paid approximately $52,000 delivered on a high end transporter, no matter what ( excellent choice in mods) you've put into it, you'll only get book value, that is unless you hook up with a buyer that is willing to buy a modded car???maybe you can

Super high!! 55K tops imo great mods, but you only get pennies on the dollar.

Same as the above. $70K+ for any relatively stock 2009 is completely off the mark, regardless of mods. The only 3-4 year old Z06's that will demand that kind of money are low-mile package deals like Callaway, and even those might be harder to sell at that price.

You need to start with an asking price that starts with a "5" and be prepared to wind up with a really small number after that 5.

Unless you find the right buyer looking for those exact mods or many of them then you might want to return it to stock as much as possible and sell those mods.

This one sold on the forum a while ago so you can determine for yourself if your $73,000 asking price is fair. Good luck with your sale!

SOLD: 2009 Z06 5700 miles in NJ Victory Red - $50K or best offer over
SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD!
I hate to get rid of this car, but I just don't have time for it (hence the low mileage).
Car Price is $50,000
VIN# 1G1YZ25E395105990
Car is a stock 1LZ, Victory Red with painted silver spider wheels, original tires, has had 3 oil changes so far. I have some parts I have put on, and still have all the stock parts both will go with the car at the sale price.
center armrest - tasteful and much comfy compared to stock unit. Have both of them
body colored spoiler insert - have the black stock one
black ball shifter **** - have stock unit as well.
Mild 2 Wild switch
Extinguisher mounted in front of passenger seat
Yellow-top battery
I took it to one HPDE at pocono in 2010, and to englishtown earlier that year for 4-5 passes - had a blast, but these are tough to cut quarter miles with!
Paint is in very good shape, one scratch on the passenger side rocker - pic in the album.. car runs great. I don't have title - GMAC/Ally does, so yada yada

eagle0001, my advice to you is do some due diligence when you decide to sale something and research a bit.
For instance, you can buy this, off the dealer inventory, brand new:
"torch Red/Ebony 2LZ Package, F55 Ride Control, Black Cup Wheels, Aluminum Pedals, Battery Protection, Black Headlights, ZR1 Spoiler
MSRP $85,070 Sale Price $76,563"
You cannot add the price of new mods and labor to your price, at best, you will loose all labor cost and get about 1/2 for the mods. I would suggest you remove/replace some mods, like your expensive exhaust, and sale that separately to get more money.
50-52 with mods, 47-49 without, as you are the second owner of it too, it may influence some people.
It's very difficult when you have to compete with brand new inventory priced low and very good incentives (0-2.99% interests)
Last, I bought my 08Z06 3LZ in 09 for 63750 brand new. A lot of guys with 09 where able to duplicate that price late 09 and 2010 for left over inventory, so would be hard to justify buying used at 7-10k over what it cost new.

if I where you, I would bring it down to 53 and see. Advertise it locally for 1-3k more, the CF is the worst place to sale a car as most of the time you get low ballers. I bet most offers you get on here will be 43-45 though. I think what people do is look at what the trade in value is and just offer you that amount, in which case, why bother, a dealer transaction is almost instant, where a private sale, you have to deal with all the BS (from tire kickers to financing issue and such...unless they bring Ben along, in a brief case lol)
good luck, the car looks great though!

Default Reduced price

Thanks for all of the feedback. I've taken everything into consideration and reduced the asking price to $58K.

You can ASK $73k. I don't think you will get it, or anywhere near it. I am guessing $50-52.

Good luck

Default Now asking $56K

Thanks for all of the comments. I'm now asking $56K with all mods. I'll also consider offers without mods whereby I'll remove the mods listed below. Note that I sold the stock exhaust; therefore, the $4k Akrapovic exhaust remains on the car when sold.
  • Katech ZR1 reinforcement front fascia
  • RPI Designs ZR1 Carbon Splitter
  • Katech carbon fiber rear spoiler
  • ZR1 Carbon Side Skirts
  • APSIS ZR1 front and rear splash guards
  • Halltech Killer Bee II

Nice car btw. I think your latest price is fair. You have quality mods, so to the right buyer, there is some value here. They are not worthless like some others think. Not a huge yellow fan, but I would consider this if I was in the market.

If it was around when I was shopping last year, I probably would have made an offer.
