Default Xm bands gone missing

I have the Nav with XM, I installed the GM Pal about 1 1/2 years ago, all worked fine until a few weeks ago, then my Iphone would stop playing music all the time, then the other day I noticed the XM Bands where not there anymore, what the F happened to them.

Not to hijack, but if the satellite connector is unplugged, do the 2 XM bands disappear? I am no longer subscribing to satellite and wouldn't mind if the bands are removed from the display.

I installed the PAL device and it has stopped working twice now. The first time it was the ipod cable bad, and now I do not know.

I have resigned myself to installing a better quality stereo which I can connect ipod directly. Tired of having issues with PAL device.

I bought mine from Ray Kwai and he was very nice when I contacted him the first time. He sent me a new ipod cable free. Fixed the first (time) problem. He took time to trouble shoot it over the phone w/me. That was last August/Sept time frame.

I have not told him it quit working again now. I'm leaving it be and getting better head unit. Maybe the new 2012 head unit, I don;'t know. Have not decided.

I had this happen as well, pulled the PAl out pulled the connections of it, and plugged it back in everything worked fine after.
