I think the new Viper looks 2x better than before on the outside and 10x better than before on the inside. I think it'll be a nice competitor to the ZR1 the ACR should be a beast.

To close to tell. It's a drivers race and the results could go back and forth depending on wich driver had the cleanest run in the qtr or road course.

Now if the engineers could the exhaust note right and if the kit car feel has gone away, I might consider a Viper.

I think I would give it a second look if it were built by a "US" company.
Viper was German for a while, and now Italian. We were at war with both of them not long ago when Hitler tried, and almost succeeded to take over the world. Millions of innocent people died but our freedom was saved by the brave men that fought, my Dad being one of them.
When a good ol' United States company gets their hands back on Chrysler, I'll once again be proud of the Viper...until then, they can "keep it".
Sorry for being so steadfast American, I guess I was born that way...

First off the viper is as ugly as sin. No matter what they do all I can think of is a clown shoe lol. Secondly at the strip the ZR1 should consistently win. However at the road course once the ZR1 gets some heat soak in it then it will start dropping lap times and the viper will take the win.

I sorta have to agree here...Like the look of last Gen Viper more than this one I so don't like the lower front facia on this one...As far as who beats who the #'s on both cars are almost even and like whatcop says about the heat soak I think is right on the money but braking should go to the ZR1 with the CC brakes you would think.

Very, very similar power to weight ratio. Gearing, traction and driver will likely be the difference.
I'm frankly surprised SRT didn't put more beans under the hood of the new snake, as it does appear its performance should likely very closely mirror the current C6 ZR1. I would have thought SRT would have wanted to "make a statement" and undisputably exceed the performance of the ZR (and who knows, maybe the new snake's gearing and traction is such that it will).
I expect them to turn the wick up a bit with the ACR.

I think your gear ratio is wrong, I read they are going back to a 3:07 for a 206 mph top end. Nice looking, Vipers always have been (the GTS's) but at the end of the day, it's still a chyrco......worst car company in the world! They can hear them depreciate on a quiet night.

Horsepower means nothing, if the suspension/chassis is not properly sorted for world beating handling. So it remains to be seen if SRT did their homework in that respect.
Having said that, I don't care weather it's a Viper or Vette that hold the best times at places like the Nurbugring, as long as Ferarri, Lambo, Porsche, and the rest are behind them.
Plus it sure is gonna get exciting in ALMS with Viper vs Vette on the same tracks. Especially at Lemans24 hr.
