My 2011 has the vibration. My dealer replaced a bad front tire, then ended up replacing all 4 tires. Still have a little vibration, but haven't driven it enough yet on the new tires. I showed the service director the AM rotor procedure and he was about to get me new rotors before he got me the new set of tires. If it still vibrates, I'm sure he will get me the new rotors. I'll keep yall updated.....

Own a 09 ZR1 VY and after visiting dealer twice with two balancing and an alignment it is no better. He advise new front tires. Anytoher set of michelins for no reason at 1000 installed and now it is worse. Unreal....I really believe the rotors are not balanced and have to go back a third time. I keep mentioning this rotor problem and the head tech laughed and called most forums guys who post here idiots. WOW I about rolled when he said that. Will be going back a little more pissed off after dropping money on a new pair of tires. Ended up grabing the 45% used front pair and stored em for later. What a waste and multiple visits is aggrevating. Anybody know who to complain to at GM/Chevy for this issue? I am about to pay to have them removed off car weighted, balanced and tested for trueness. You cannot turn a ZR1 rotor also I heard in case it is warped. Hmmm...having fun here. Heading to dealer Tuesday.

You cannot turn a ZR1 rotor because it is not steel, it's Carbon Ceramic...second I would have asked what made them think it was your tires before coughing up that kind of money, third, what's the lemon law in your state -worth checking into -
last: your tech is an idiot and shouldn't be touching a ZR1 let a lone a pinto!
If your still under the 36/36 warranty I'd bring it back and let them through parts at on on their dimes

Put the new rotors on my car last week after doing the tires, alignment etc. Bottom line, the new rotors have stopped the vibration. Comparing the old rotors to the new, my new ones had a weight attached to the hub surface & are drilled & tapped all around the outside edge for this purpose. The old rotors are not. This tells me they know there's a problem and have now made provisions to balance the rotors.

BTW, I agree with mirage2991, your 'head tech' is an idiot.

Do NOT take the car back there! Yes, they do know there is a problem, yes there are a variety of fixes and yes I do know who to contact. My Car was the catalyst for the the changes.
If your dealer won't get in touch with the right people go to another one who is familiar with the problem. Unfortunately calling GM customer service is useless and the so called Chev Cust Service person on the Forum is no Geoff .

It will be useful to see if owners of '12s & '13s are having this issue with the same degree of frequency...

2011 here.. had vibration for first 1000 miles or so quite noticeably around 80mph.. seems to be going away if not completely gone now. I havent noticed it in a long time where as before it was pretty bad.

Default 2010 vibration

Multiple trips to dealer; vibration still present but diminished.

Food for though:
(1) We all know that some part of the rotor material evaporates after hard use, like track duty. Did anyone experience balance issues at rotors after such heavy use? I am wondering if the material evaporates fairly evenly, or if rotors losing mass is yet another source for rotors going out of balance.

(2) Follow up to (1), if it evaporates unevenly, could it (the rotor going out of balance) be the reason why we're supposed to discard the rotors when they lose a certain amount of weight, or do they lose structural integrity as well? Keep in mind, these rotors are not like the Porsche's cc rotors that literally disintegrate. IIRC, they are manufactured using a different process. If we're supposed to discard it only due to balance issues, and if the new ones have tabs to attach balance weight, perhaps we can use the rotors a lot longer even after they hit the discard weigh; just wishful thinking
