Default Best of Z06 & ZR1 in one car !!!

That's how Chevrolet is touting the upcoming 427 Convertible in their commercial featuring Tommy Milner . . . .

Now I think the 427 Convertible is going to be a great car, but' I also think it's a kick in the teeth to Z06 & ZR1 owners to say the new car is the best of those 2 combined . . . .

It has magnetic ride, the ls7, a rag top ,gorgeous wheels, you cant exactly say its not a winner.I am a z06 owner, and i dont feel insulted.By the same token the guy who wants a rag top and a lot of power will be well served.

In general, unless you're so inclined to think it as a "kick in the teeth,” and quite entitled to such personal opinion, it's simply a complement – a variation to the Corvette lineage, nothing more than an understandable and acceptable marketing promotion, imo.

Its a cool car for a vert but I dont think I agree that a vert can be the best of a Z06 and ZR1, it may have the best parts from both though (but so does a carbon package Z07).

No car can be the best of both worlds unless it has the ls9.638h.p wins over 505 h.p So, dont take what you read so seriously.

It's called Marketing. They have a product to sell and they need to promote it. What could create more interest than comparing it to the Z06 and ZR1 which are proven winners. If you are into convertibles then this should spike your interest. Not my cup of tea.

More like a blend of the Z07 and the GS, I don't see a ZR1 anywhere but I haven't looked at the price tag yet. None the less it's a nice car and I don't feel threatened by it at all.

Rag tops make my head burn...

It's not a ZR1 compromise.

It's neither a Z06 or a ZR1. It has a 427 motor and is a convertible. Simply a means of doing something special in the final year of the C6 in an attempt to sell cars and create interest to enhance sales before the C7 introduction.

All that, and it won't be allowed on many tracks to do just what is shown in that video because it is a convertible. Ironic.

Best of Z06 and ZR1????

The 427 is a nice car, and I'd agree that it has taken some of the signature parts from each.

But the Z06 and ZR1 were built to be tracked if the owner so desired.

The owner of a new 427 convertible, might be able to put his car on his favorite track, and he very well might not be able to.

"Hi, I'm tommy Millner. I'm here to tell you about the fastest and most capable convertible in corvette history "..... untill corvette releases a better on next year . Pretty cool its a "collectors edition" Too bad that means diddly and squat

And does this best of both worlds come with the Hydroformed aluminum frame, magnesium engine cradle, etc etc. All I see is a 427 vert. Not a bad car by any means, but definately not a Z06 mixed with a ZR1

And +1 on the irony that it wouldn't even be able to go on the track as advertised since its a convertible

Ohhhh GM, please don't bankrupt yourself so we don't have to give you another 50 Billion Dollar Bailout again

I was all set to try to buy one, but after finding out it did not really sit on the Z06 platform...I decided to get the "real thing". Picked up a new 2011 Z06/Z07 Carbon Package (not a Carbon) and I am very happy

Best of Zr1? I am tired of people minimizing the Z06 to the level of Zr1. I mean common.. Z06 is a lot more than a supercharged GS!!!

Agree in total. I am not a vert type of guy and I would rather be in a coupe going 150 than in a vert. I'm not sure why - but, I find high speeds in a vert dangerous.

That brings a question to mind. Considering 200 mph as top speed, how fast can you push a vert and sustain it - top up and top down? I have no idea the answer to the question.
