Default CAI for 2007 C6z06

I'm shopping around for one now. What do you guys suggest? I had a vararam on my c5z. Great gains, but always had issues with lean codes. Is vararam still king or are there better performing options out for the c6 Z? Does vararam throw lean codes on 07 Z06's?

IMO You should save yourself the trouble of research/comparisons. WITH OUT A DOUBT HALLTECH MF103 W/BEEHIVE.

A 15 minute install and it runs great with or without a tune.

HALLTECH is the only way to go, fit and finish is perfect unlike some that you must "hack" up your car to install.....Oh and the Halltech works!

We formerly ran a Vararam on our C5Z with great results; however, we opted for the Halltech on the C6Z and never looked back. The result speaks for itself.

Hmmmm, "only way to go." I disagree.

CF102 with beehive is another option.

Then throw a GT2 Dred hood on the car so that you can always see your intake.

Just got to get it painted and installed now.

So the mf103 does not require cutting of anything for max results? Their website says that you will need to cut. Is the beehive included? I'm assuming that's the cover that goes over the filter. I also saw that they have one that requires a tune. What's the concensus on that? I will be installing the cai with lg lt's, so a tune will be done regardless. What can I expect hp wise to the wheels through the stock catback with a M2W on it? Changing the stock plugs and wires necessary on these cars for more power? Thanks again for all the advice!

We run ours in conjunction with the Vette-Air which requires cutting of the shroud.

i would love to see back to back runs with the Vram(tuned) vs Halltech(tuned).
Vram is a scoop that sits pretty much outside your car and gets cool air, but remember the c6z is not a bottem breather so you only get air from the front grill which the scoop blocks. your cars temperatures will increase. cutting the shroud is a pita, halltech unit looks nice and neat. going from stock to Vram a can def feel the difference the way the car pulls from 60mph and up. i have no expierience with the Halltech unit, but look at all the positive feedback. if it could be proven that my car car would be faster switching to the halltech unit i would buy in an instant

I don't know how big of a hurry you are in, but if my 07 Z sells in the next few weeks I have a mf103 w/ beehive still in the box.

intake, headers, and tune should make anywhere from 480-500whp depending on dyno and conditions. A 160* T-stat might be a nice cheap mod to add to your setup I've always been told you can usually squeeze out more timing with it. Plus runs cooler for longer from my experiences

Never used? If used, how many miles/condition?

Is this the same as what's currently for sale? Not an older version? How much shipped to Houston, Texas? Thanks!

It's the newest version. In box, never opened. I would think you are looking at $485 shipped but I would have to dbl check.

Again though, it might be another week or so as I am going to try and sell my 07 in that time. If it doesn't sell I will be putting it on and keeping the car. Thx.

on my car with a fast 102/102, i picked up 12 wheel switching from the vararam to the haltech M107r, that was likely do the the increased surface area, the vararams MAF housing did neck down a fair amount and it was right in front of the TB
