Default Opinions Wanted....

Strongly considering going with Gloss Black Powdercoated wheels. I've never been a big fan of chrome, and while these looks good, I kind of like the idea of black wheels (and tint).

I often thought about the same thing, but the one thing that concerns me about powdercoating is how often they'll get chipped when changing tires. My chrome wheels have a few dings thanks to Discount Tire.

I am, however, keeping the stock chrome wheels for the street and will most likely pick up some comp gray wheels for track tires. I think the comp gray would look better with black. Honestly, though, I think the two-piece wheels with chrome rings and gloss black centers look better with a silver car.

Gloss black looks good. I just bought a set of gloss black ZR1's for my Z. They looked great on the Carbon Editions and think they will look good on my Artic White.

Do it... If you don't like the chrome give it a shot. If you don't like it you can always have them coated a different color

Best thing about paint and powder coat is they are a media blast and recoat from being like new again. I went down the paint road with mine and love them. If you're getting chips from your tire changes you're going to the wrong shop, I would look for a quality center who has the right equipment for big wheels and tires. You may pay a bit more but it's better than tool marks on your wheels.

Previous owner had these on it, and it looked great. Unfortunately, they are a bit out of my budget...

I say go for it, I plan to either get a set of black wheels or powder coat my stock polished wheels because like you I think they look good but its just not my taste.

I'll be the Grumpy Old Man:

I prefer chrome on black, blue, orange and red (basically, the darker colors). I like flat or polished aluminum on yellow, light blue and silver exterior colors. I really don't care for blacked out wheels on any corvette - they say "rice" to me for whatever reason.

I know a lot of people spend serious money on wheels to be Different, so if that's your thing than to each his own. But me personally... I really have a thing for the OEM split 5-spokes in chrome. Thankfully, they came with the car!

If any black wheels were to look good, I'd pay the extra coin for a deep polished lip with gloss black centers. Flat black wheels remind me of people in old rusted out taurus's or geo's with a "Fear This" sticker on the windshield, running on the spray-painted spare on their way to the drive through liquor store.

Hey, you asked for opinions!

That looks great on the blue....seems like the going rate around here is about 5-600 which includes mounting.

It's interesting how much I like the "dark side" to the C6 Z06 Corvette.

I just think there needs to be a little chrome.

You Corvette looks great!!! If I saw it on the street, I'm certain that I would visually lock on to it!

It's a great life!!!

Some of the time I think like Grumpy here, that a black center with a polished DEEP lip looks great but I found a killer deal on these matte black Forgelines w/PS2's so I went for it. The Ti fasteners give a bit of contrast and hey, if you have chrome wheels you couldn't add the red accent striping, like I did on my......rattle canned 'spares.'

P.S. I couldn't see the chrome Spyders quickly enough...

Yup, I'll have to go w/ Randow84 on this. I'll stick w/ the OEM Chrome.

There are 4 pre-curved pieces per wheel. If you try it with narrow red colored tape, the inside edge will bunch up - do not ask me how I know this. But this stuff works perfectly, just take your time applying.

Black Wheels are BADD AZZ on a C6 Z and most Bad Hot Rods, and the lighter color the car the better they look, except for Black!

There is a reason the Carbon Z06s and the Centennial Z06 come with black wheels (they simply are the TUFFEST and MEANEST race car look you can have)!

I have an 07 Z06 Machine Silver with Satin Black Powdercoated stockers. Planning on painting the top and halo black if I keep the Z. Windows are tinted and looks bad *** now, but will look even better with top too.
