in my experience the PS2 are sticky as hell on the track and worthless in the cold! but overall they are as quiet as the invos and i think as good of traction when warm.
the main thing i am looking forward to is they came with a 20,000 mile warranty and several people have said in their experience they do have a much better tread life.
i think if you returned them because of how they look on the car, your nuts!
you think they look bad? i drove the general UHP and they looked really narrow but performed great! i got 17,000 miles out of a set of rears.
i think for those that don't like the look are a little too worried what others will think. there seems to be a testosterone thing about having the widest tires.
personally i am not lacking in that department and could give 2 ***** what everyone else thinks about how wide my tire tread looks.
fact is the tread width is wider the the stock tire, it just doesn't look like it is. as a matter of fact its likely to give better cornering designed that way.
but hey it's your money! hard to argue with the vast majority of folks who like the ps2 and hate the OE tire.

When new, the GY grip is better in cornering. At 3k miles they start to fade quick. The Bridgestone doesn't fall off and has great grip for a very long time (13k miles on mine and they still feel right in cornering). And the Bstone has superior straight line traction under any condition or mileage.

The GY is the widest 325 available. The Bstone 325 is pretty close. Someone in a thread awhile back did a measurement of both tires laying their sides and it was less than 1/4", though I don't recall the exact measurement.

In December 2010 I put the 4th set of tires on my 06Z06 which had 112K miles on it at the time. They are Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2, 94Y speed rating asymmetric, directional tread blocks. (copied from the sticker on the tire when new)
I currently have 140K on the car which means 28K miles have passed already and they are still not in need of replacing. The first three sets were OEM GY that everyone complains about. I have had two flats repaired on run flats with no issues as the puncture was in the center of the tread. I have been very satisfied with these Gen 2s as they are quieter and stickier than the Gen 1s. I do not track the car but use it as a DD making sales calls.
Call me stupid, but I like buying USA on an American car and when the G2s need to be replaced, I will buy the G2s again. The total cost for the G2s installed at my selling Chevrolet dealer was $2846.72 including labor and tax.

Holy ****, really? I think you should do a little price shopping.
Labor $135.37
Sales Tax $216.72
What should have been the installed cost for the Gen2s in Texas?

They shouldn't have been much more than $430 for each front and $500 for each back. Thats a total of $1,860. Should be out the door at 2k and not 3k IMO. $2200 max

That's weird.. My experience with PS2 ZPs couldn't be more different.. . I find them to be a superior tire to the GYs in every single way.
I have approx 25k miles on the PS2 ZPs and they look like they have another 20k miles in them.
Much more front and lateral grip and road noise is substantially reduced.. .
Completely realize looks are subjective - i like how the Michelin's, perform, feel and look.
Enjoy your goodyears..

Tire Rack is one source but freight, tax and labor needs to be added. CA has a major sales tax problem the those in Texas and Florida do not have to deal with.

I went in this morning to make the switch back to the GYs and am happy with my choice. Appearance was the deciding issue with me and that's just a personal preference issue. I thought everyone made good points in this thread. The only thing I would suggest is that if you're considering the PS2's, take a look at them mounted on another Z to make sure you like their looks because they are substantially different. They balloon beyond the rim in front and recede from the rim in back.
LOSNSUX:
I want to thank you for your posts/thread on the Michelin PS2's! I am getting ready to replace the tires on my 2007 Z06 and also don't like the way the Michelins look on the rim either. My Goodyear F-1 EMT's have almost 15,000 miles on them and I am happy with them. I also don't like the high prices of the Michelins either.
Thanks again Sir!

Could someone that has the OE Goodyear 325's mounted, please measure the overall width. TireRack says they are 13.2" but TireRack also says my 325 Bridgestones are 13.2". Mounted on the stock Z06 wheels and on the ground, my 325 Bridgestones measure 12.9" overall width.

Those concerned about appearance may want to look at the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires which Luke at Tire Rack recommended going to the 345s rear and 295 fronts. Lasts much longer than even the PS2s with equivalent dry handling and some improvements in other areas. As non run-flats, noticeably lighter too!

The car has 10,800 miles and the tires have plenty of tread front and rear. I'm sure I am good for over 20,000 miles on both fronts and rears. I don't track the car but I certainly don't baby it either.
